There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel.
Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit.
The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.
An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.
Jacques is a wonderful host. Everything was better than expected with great view, big private room, property, etc. Breakfast was really special, absolutely delicious! Jacques puts a lot of effort into a nice home cooked spread that I looked forward to every morning. The extra meals are also worth the money! Great community dinner vibes. Honor code for drinks is great as well. Climbing nearby and out in the serene countryside.
By booking, we expect an original arrangement of the room, but it is indeed nicely surprising. The terraces have an exceptional view and rooms, lobby, gardens, and around the pool, the whole place is decorated with style. The hotel itself deserves a visit. Excellent experience.
It is good to know that there is no supermarket nearby, but the Garganta restaurant has an excellent chef at affordable prices. We loved our stay.
The place is a dream. During our stay there was peace and quiet. Every day we had breakfast watching hills and the sun coming over the horizon. The location is amazing to get to any climbing locations in El Chorro. You can watch the clouds roll over Escalera Arabe.
The host is very friendly and we had lovely chats everyday!
We also have to mention a cat who is the loveliest creature.
We miss it already.
the pool area and Garden was good for the children, the house was clean and when we had problems they were dealt with very quickly.
The wifi is good and the kitchen was quite well stocked. it was not too far away from El Chorro and the Caimito del Rey. Although the roads are a little treacherous.
Also we left a computer lead behind and the host was kind enough to arrange for it to be sent to us.
The location was excellent for our purposes, which were to explore the rock climbing opportunities around El Chorro. The host was extraordinarily responsive and helpful. The internet/wifi connection was great. Parking was easy and convenient. The building itself has a historic feel and some may see it as rustic, but we enjoyed the sense of connection to the area’s history.
Jacques was super welcoming with us and a very nice person in general, we enjoyed spending some time with him!
They are only 2 rooms so the entire place is very quiet; the location is amazing in the middle of the nature + facilities with the pool, terrasses & garden are really perfect. It also a really nice area to visit in general if you like hiking, climbing or kayaking.
Our host was very friendly and giving. We enjoyed the location and the climbing in the area. Don’t forget to say Hi to Cheesepa the dog (she’s shy but we saw her wag her tail when she thought we weren’t looking) and Looney the cat. loved picking oranges and lemons just outside our door.
Very well equipped house, in a pleasant rural location. Conversed with host via What's App & Google translate. If climbing there is good access to the crags (with a car) I chose this place due to heaters, just in case it was cold. We were very glad of them.
Lovely house, great location, nice pool and well equipped. Very pleasant house manager, quick efficient and informative despite my lack of Spanish. A lovely relaxing spot after a days climbing or whatever you're doing yourself.
Cosy, clean, well equipped house. Walking distance to much of the climbing and El Chorro centre. Really nice owner Ela who takes really good care of the guests and helps out if you have any questions.
We were in the El Chorro area for the rock climbing and the accommodation was perfectly situated to get to the crags relatively easily. Not too far from Malaga airport with Lidl and Aldi on route.
Very quaint old house set into the hillside which has been renovated beautifully, great views of the mountains and walking access to some of the climbing areas directly through the pine forest
For us the location was perfect or climbing. We've eaten here many times before and the food is good. This was our first stay. Bed comfy, room warm in winter.
outstanding in every way… beautiful gardens and buildings, excellent owners and staff, great food… and great fellowship with other climbers/adventurers!
