A small town which advertises itself as a place with...
A small town which advertises itself as a place with historic rail links. Sadly, it seems to be the roads which have had more impact and we felt that the centre of town had been largely denuded of restaurants; the ones we used were on the western edge of town, towards the bus station. The town prides itself on being the birthplace of Cervantes, but was there a postcard to be found? No.

A bit run down but wonderful church and a nice shopping area. Bars and restaurants were still closed at 8.30pm on a Tuesday night and locals all seemed to be in 1 bar that was open on the plaza Ok for a 1 night stop off

A simple small La Mancha town, with the very interesting...
A simple small La Mancha town, with the very interesting natural park conservation of the surrounding wetlands for ornithologists, best known for Tablas de Damiel, but some lakes close to Alcazar. Some good cafes and bars in this functional town. Nice stop south of Madrid if heading south to Andalucia from Santander, Bilbao or French border. About 6 hours drive from north of Spain so good overnight stop. Also close to Toledo by direct autovia. Heart of Don Quixote land.

We had requested a quiet room and had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool area. We were served a delicious three course lunch with drinks in the restaurant with very efficient and friendly service. In the evening we enjoyed some bar food and some wine in the courtyard. Breakfast was excellent with a good buffet and a choice of hot dishes from the kitchen, again with friendly and efficient service. The hotel is spotlessly clean.PatriciaUnited Kingdom

The hotel is built in a very old building with very interesting features left from the time was religious building. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
