Amazing stay at Marcels place. It was an hounor to be his guest. Friendliest host I have visited in many years and it proves that staying only at luxurious (often boring) resorts you are missing out on a big part of what life has to offer. Clean, quiet and amazing breakfast. The hospitality from Marcel was 10/10. Great sense of humor and trustworthy. I also enjoyed conversations with the other guests staying there, definitly coming back.

The best thing of all about the Hotel California and what made our stay so memorable was its charming and attentive host Marcel. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and when it was time to leave we felt like we had made a new friend. The property is in a lovely rustic garden setting and the pool is a nice size with space for using the loungers alongside it or on the adjoining grass. The interior of the house is spacious with a large lounge for guests to use just off reception and our room was comfortable and clean. The shower had good pressure. The hotel’s location was convenient for shops and supermarkets. It was a 15 minute walk to the fabulous Burriana beach and 20 minutes to the wonderful Balcon de Europa. The breakfasts were delicious, served up by Marcel on the sunny terrace. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Marcel!

The hotel and grounds are spotlessly clean and tidy. The garden is very pretty. The rooms are fairly basic, but super clean and in good condition. It has its own small pool and sun loungers, but the lovely beach is 10 mins walk away. The most direct route home is up hill, if that's a concern. Nerja is beautiful, and the hotel is in a quieter part of it, but just a short walk from all of the many bars and restaurants, shops, sights, etc. Marcel the owner is something special, and makes your stay a very charming experience. He is an extremely hospitable host, and couldn't look after you better. Thank you Marcel!

The owner of the hotel was very kind, helpful and friendly. He clearly cared about my experience. The breakfast was also made by him and served to my table with a lot of attention to good service. The room was simple, quiet and clean. The pool looked nice, although I never got around to using it.

Breakfast was simple, but good. What I appreciated in this place was that it was very close to the center and yet at the same time very quiet at night. But what was really outstanding was the attitude of Marcel - the owner - to do anything to make the stay of his guests as enjoyable as possible. The room was simple and hygiene was super!
