Fairly early in the season and already the main square was vibrant with people enjoying the sunshine , cafes, tram/train ride . The stone buildings , the narrow streets, surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains makes for very scenic views from everywhere. Soller smells divine...citrus trees and flowers everywhere.
A car is a must if you want to experience what the island has to offer which are some of the most scenic and challenging drives with hairpin turns and stunning views that will take you to hidden coves of turquoise water & out of the way restaurants that take some effort to get to, only adding to the experience.
Try Ca's Padro March ( reservations needed ) in Deia.
Port Villamosa
Village of Fornalutx
Cap de Formentor ( this number of cyclists and cars make it challenging and would strongly recommend starting out VERY early morning if you want to make it to the top without a traffic jam ) If we could do it again, would plan to be there just after sunrise .

Last year, we took the wooden train from Palma to Sóller for a day trip and we loved Sóller so much, we came back this year for a 5 day break in April.
We bought a mountain walking guide book and spent each day walking the mountains and taking in the breath-taking views, followed by swims in the hotel pool or down to beach in Port de Sóller.
On our walks we discovered the beautiful nearby towns of Deià, Valldemossa and Fornalutx.
We spent our evenings walking thru the town, or down to Port Sóller (only 52 mins easy walk).
Everywhere we went the food was fantastic, the people were friendly and the weather was perfect, approx. 23°.
Ideal destination for families, gangs of friends or for couples

I knew Sóller fairly well when I lived nearby many years ago and I sm pleased that many of its features have not changed much. I was glad that I visited in February when there is not so much traffic and fewer tourists. In particular, I enjoyed moving away from the obvious tourist highlights and walking around the beautifully preserved back streets. Recommended for a short stay in winter.

After staying in Soller and Puerto Soller we preferred Puerto Soller, it was very pretty and there were more restaurants to choose from, the food was also fresh and much cheaper than Soller.

Lovely town with lots of restaurants and bars.
Lovely town with lots of restaurants and bars. Very touristy but also very convenient for access to other similar towns in the area. A good base for travelling around, but not a huge amount to do once you've had a good walk around. Definitely recommend having a hire car for the stay. The botanic gardens are worth a visit. Occasionally there are events in the town square, and the tram that goes to Port do Soller, although that's not great unless you like bars, restaurants and boats.
The hotel was absolutely stunning. It is very close to the town center and trolley that takes you to the port. The views are also truly breathtaking. I was worried about parking since there were no spots available through the hotel but free, public lots were easy to find. Martin and Barbara were super kind. Also the breakfast we had was absolutely incredible! For any non vegan folks, apprehensive to stay here due to that cuisine, don't be. It's excellent.
Soller is a beautiful town and we hope to visit again soon!
Everything was great! Location was lovely and close to everything. Front desk staff nice and helpful, checkin/checkout was a breeze. The room was spacious and clean and had some old Spanish architecture features. The back garden had a great view and cute seating. My room led straight out to the garden so I could just sit in the room with the doors open. Such a good price for what you get! (this was off season in December, and it was 60 euro/night). Also as a solo traveller the hotel felt very secure.
The property is the perfect oasis with beautiful gardens and mountain views all around. The property is well maintained and tastefully-decorated. We had a room with a private terrace overlooking the orchards which we loved! Jose-Maria and his team did a fantastic job of looking after us and nothing was too much trouble. The property is a short 10 mins walk to Soller town with many good dining options and a quick tram ride to the Port. The nearby villages of Fornalutx and Deia are also a must-visit!
This hotel is exceptional, the building is absolutely beautiful. It has amazing high ornate ceilings, incredible decor and lighting. It is situated in the lovely town of Soller which is surrounded by mountains, yet it is only a couple of miles from Port de Soller on the coast. All the staff are absolutely charming and efficient, the feeling here is almost a private house party with great hosts. Breakfast is delicious and the presentation and quality is first class.
Very quiet location even if centrally located in Soller old town. Easy to come and go every day for new experiences. Very good selection of breakfast choices with some specialities almost every day. Clean room service. Nice swimming pool area for relaxing after days other program. Spacy parking area well located on the border of the old town area.
Absolutely everything! This place is a hidden gem, the perfect distance between soller town and port. Huge spacious land with a beautiful pool area. Lunch was exceptional and all the staff so friendly and helpful. The photos don’t do the view and rooms justice in our opinion and we would certainly come back. Rooms very spacious and clean.
Great location in centre of Soller, we took the old train from Palma and it stops not far from Hotel and you can take the tram to Puerto Soller.
We stayed in El Guia sister hotel in Puerto Soller which we preferred as it offered more that suited us. View from bedroom a shame about the room itself
We had a fabulous trip to Soller!! The hotel staff were extremely accommodating, helping to organise taxi's, providing beach towels and recommendations for restaurants etc. The hotel itself was in a brilliant location too. We will definitely be returning when in Soller/Mallorca again!
The breakfast was of good quality and variety and was always topped up.
The hotel was very central to Soller which made travelling around easy.
The pool area was supplied with lots of umbrellas for shade and most of the time sun beds were available.
The location of the hotel was great, make note there is no or very little parking availability in the old town. The hotel was great and very private. The cleanliness of the hotel and room was exceptional and one of the best we have stayed in.
it was STUNNING, a little jungle oasis in soller. it was calm relaxing and homey. the staff was amazing and made all of our reservations at great restaurants. they made our stay in soller perfect. best hotel in mallorca you MUST go.
Excellent hotel, location, and rooms are MASSIVE. The hotel staff was very helpful and breakfast was delicious. Hotel exceeded our expectations and was convenient to all major sites in Soller. Would definitely recommend
everything at this hotel will is top notch!!!
the room is great and the towels were thick and there are bathrobes (love this).
breakfast is included and delicious.
you can walk to town and to the train station.
The location is perfect. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was a great stay in Soller. There’s a parking close-by in town, don’t park in the parking they tell you: it was so far.
Great location in the middle of Soller. Traditional Grand hotel with pools/bars and excellent breakfast. Very attentive staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area.
