Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle. Also, you can visit dolmens (in the town) and El Torcal hiking area (nearby, some 20km maybe). The town seemed cozy during workdays and quite busy on Saturday with many people cruising the streets.

Antequera is a beautiful place with loads of churches and elaborate buildings. I could have done with another day here at least. I also never got to sample the food so I will definitely need to come back.

A cosy town, not too small, not too large. The megalithic burial tomb complex dating back to Neolithic- Bronze Age (Dolmen de Menga, Dolmen de Vieta) is within walking distance from city center. Our main reason to visit Antequera was to see these 5000-6000 years old burial tombs. We loved the city.

A very nice medium sized town with an interesting historic Quarter. Everything clean and nice giving an impression of a caring local population. I think the local council has spent time and money on the historic buildings. The nearby dolmen are also well worth visiting.

It's a beautiful little town and I am sorry I did not have more time in it. I would have liked to visit El Torcal.
However, do not walk alone to the dolmens. My husband did and got stopped on the side of the road by people in a car claiming to be police (we think they might have been private security for the poligono industrial area instead), who demanded to see his TIE card and then took off without giving it back to him. We've had to go through the hassle of reporting it at the National Police station and the grinding bureaucracy of getting it replaced.
Excellent quality food, clean throughout. Helpful friendly staff.
An area of few tourist so little English spoken. A good base for exploring Andalusia and to the town of Antequera is charming with many good clothe shops, restaurants and bars, beautiful architecture and clean well maintained streets and public gardens.
As typical English travellers we would have appreciated tea making facilities in our hotel room but that really was our only disappointment.
We would recommend the parador and hope to return soon
Great location and despite speaking very little English they really did their best to help us and give us details for our visit, friendly and kind. We had a hire car and it was great to be able to book a parking spot in advance and so close to the hotel.
We read the reviews of this Hotel and decided to stay as it was in our budget, so despite it not being 4 star or where we would usually stay we got what we paid for.
Room was larger than expected with a small couch and a very large closet and a wonderful and good size balcony. The breakfast was delicious with good choices available, keeping in mind this is Spain. The front desk receptionist, as well dining room staff, were very accommodating. WiFi speed was good and we were able to stream video. Parking lot was very large with room for larger vehicles as well cars.
Old fashioned Spanish building with wonderful courtyards both internally and outside.
Boutique hotel with really top quality restaurant and bar in traditional Spanish bodega style.
We had our dinner in the restaurant courtyard with hanging plants and beautiful lighting.
Didn’t get to use the pool facilities but it would be great in the summer months.
The location of the hotel is brilliant - on a main street [but quiet] and opposite an attractive square. Lovely rooms - large and well appointed. The nicest hotel receptionist I've come across in a very long time - very friendly and her smile was infectious. I'd really recommend Antequera - off the beaten track but a lovely place.
Imma met us promptly at the property. She was very friendly and gave us a full walk-thru of the lovely apartment. She also gave us some wonderful suggestions of where to eat! On the last night, we ate at the restaurant she recommended, Bienmesabe Santa Maria, and it was the best food and atmosphere of our whole stay!
The hotel is beautiful and and the location offers beautiful views. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, It was the most comfortable hotel we stayed during our trip. Our meals were great, beautiful pool area and grounds, I enjoyed my horse ride and all the nature that surrounded us.
The view from the room was terrific and it's certainly convenient for everything. There is a bar next door for breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, everything was clean, and the staff were helpful. It's an amazing value and we loved the town of Antequera.
The place has a patio with a fountain and a fantastic view on Antequera alcazaba. It is very spacious, kitchen has anything you might need to cook. In addition they provide coffee, marmelade, the, for breakfast.
We really liked our stay. Antequera is beautiful.
Located in the heart of Antequera. Part of a family business that includes a restaurant below the rooms, open to the street. Parking is very hard around, but it's possible to stop the car in front the for some minutes. Friendly family, thank for everything.
Nice location, balcony with a view to a nearby old church. Friendly staff. Possibility to park a car at the closed parking 100 metres from the hotel. There's a restaurant downstairs which is convenient for a breakfast. Antequera is a city worth visiting.
Beautiful, brand new looking hotel in a very convenient location. Evening staff was wonderful and accommodating. Room was larger than many European hotel rooms and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Free parking was handy and just a short walk away.
the staff was very nice and helpful. the two I dealt with at reception had good English. my room was the inexpensive single. there was sufficient room and the bathroom was not cramped. WiFi worked well. hotel had a nice location in town central
Nice quiet location that is also close enough to everything. The place is tidy and very new looking. It was also nice having the maps and pamphlets to help best take advantage of the area.
My flight arrived late at Malaga airport, the Yedra hotel was the perfect place to sleep on my way to Seville. Great service, staff very attentive & good food at the restaurant.
