Puerto Calero is a lovely harbour town which is within easy reach of the busier louder Puerto del Carmen, and only 20-30 minutes from Arecife airport. The harbour has an excellent selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, lovely views across the harbour, and a great place to sit and watch people.

The Cesar Manrique house in Haria and foundation at Tahiche are well worth a visit. His artwork and architecture are visible throughout the island. Hiring a car is probably advisable as the local bus stop is slightly out of town. Two restaurants for good quality food are Bodega Uga and La Bodega De Santiago.

Lovely marina, didn't actually eat here but the restaurants were reasonably priced considering the location. A new shopping centre and supermarket is under construction. This will give the town a big boost.
Bus service to PDC and Playa Blanca is regular and cheap particularly if you buy a travel card.

We have stayed in Puerto Calero many times ,it is a small resort but we love the relaxed and quiet atmosphere around the marina , the staff at the various restaurants are always pleasant and welcoming , it is a lovely resort to just walk around or take longer coastal walks to Carmen one way or the small village Quemeda the other way . Calero has such a pleasant atmosphere especially on a evening .

Quiet Marina town.
Quiet Marina town. Lovely selection of restaurant, suitable for couple or family. Nice shops. Supermarket with all essentials- you pay for convenience. Nice pub. Very friendly staff in restaurants. Pretty spot for stroll.
The rooms are heavenly, spacious and very well equipped.
The grounds are very well maintained which makes roaming throughout the complex feel magical.
the breakfast buffet is fantastic with its of choices so that you can change what you eat every time and everything is appetising.
The pool areas are beautiful.
The staff is always amazingly kind and accommodating. We always feel cherished and taken care of which is why we return frequently to the hotel.
The development f the gym is great, more space and more equipment.
The location was excellent as well as the villa itself rooms were all very spacious and the pool a delight. All the facilities whether you wanted to eat in the villa were more than adequate, or walk to the local restaurants and bars. The resort is very quiet and is a busy marina during the day, generally the restaurants start to close down at 10:30 when the eaters have left. You can walk or catch the water bus, to the bigger resort where there is more late entertainment and a taxi back is about €7.5..
My husband and I returned for a 2nd visit. We love Secrets! Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. Comfy beds. Gorgeous views. Staff goes above and beyond (Chloe and another front desk girl) to make your stay perfect. Gym is nice. Pools are gorgeous. Easy to walk to the pier (and the small grocery to get sunscreen and snacks). We find that having breakfast and dinner (half board) is MORE than enough! We love you Secrets Lanzarote!
We booked this villa because of the location - we wanted to be within easy reach of Puerto Calero. To be fair we did only use one of the bedrooms and the outside pool area. Both of which were fantastic. The host met us within 5 mins of our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Would love to book again. There is plenty of parking on the street outside. The pool even though is on the street is quite private.
The villa was amazing. The views are just stunning. Pool was a good size. Puerto Calero is the nicest part of Lanzarote in my opinion. Near enough to Puerto Del Carmen if you want a bit of night life but if your objective is to have a calm safe holiday you wont find better. The Marina was less than a 10 minute walk away and if you were tired going back to the villa you could grab a taxi for €3/€4 euro.
Honestly, Secrets was probably one of the nicest resorts I've ever stayed at. The buffet food was varied and amazing! The room was lovely. The vibe was phenomenal. The staff extremely helpful (especially the front desk).
The courtesy room offered for a quick shower and clean up once we had checked out of the hotel but hanging at the resort until our flight was a generous touch!
We've spent a month at the house working remotely and getting to know the island. The house was clean and very well equipped. Location excellent and very easy to find, just a short walk to restaurants in Puerto Calero. Miguel was super helpful - answered all our questions and provided everything that we have asked for. We definitely recommend this property!
we were at secrets resort as a couple in first week of September , the resort itself was great was not full so plenty of space at the pool. beautiful manicured grounds. the hotel rooms were gorgeous and new. the staff was excellent and the night time entertainment was fun. we liked it so much we booked for next year same please.
Location was great with everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. I was on a sailing course and didn’t want to stay on the school boat. As an alternative to a hotel it would be perfect. Host was helpful with great communication. Very reasonably priced.
Fantastic staff. Relaxing. Amazing spa treatment. Delicious food. Great location near a marina with lots of lovely restaurants. Spotless. Breathtaking views. Lovely pool. Great evening entertainment. Loved every minute of our time in Secrets Lanzarote.
Lovely Hotel with very comfortable rooms.
The Restaurants were lovely with a huge selection of food & drinks and catered for all you needs. The outside pool areas very clean and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will be returning.
So much space available, the rooms and en-suites all excellent, and nice quiet spot, not overlooked.
Puerto Calero is a great space, with everything you need including excellent bars, shops and restaurants (Coentro especially)
Stunning location! Vast sea views, beautiful sunrises, and the occasional pod of dolphins passing by! Also only a 5-10 minute walk along the promenade to reach Puerto Calero cafés, restaurants and bars.
So completely different to any other experience I’ve had! I currently live in Lanzarote and having a new experience like this in such an incredible location was fantastic!
Good location, convenient for the restaurants in Puerto Calero. Great outside seating area which caught the winter sun. Well equipped, clean and comfortable.
