I'd long wanted to know about the cave houses of this region and it is quite interesting from a historical as well as practical point of view. We also met Angel who restored these 10 homes and is currently working nearby on another community of 71 houses, LA Herradura, Huescar.

Cuevas La Atalaya offers 6 fully-equipped cave houses just 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Huéscar. There is a swimming pool and barbecue facilities. All caves feature 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and a spacious living-dining area with a fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchenette. Each also features an outdoor eating space. The caves stay cool throughout the year because of their stone walls. Guests will find several bars, restaurants and shops in Huéscar, just 0.9 miles away. Staff are happy to provide information about outdoor activities in the surrounding area, including hiking, canoeing or bungee jumping.
