The Parador de las Cañadas del Teide features an unbeatable location, next to a volcano in the stunning Teide National Park that covers the center of the island of Tenerife.

The location and scene are phenomenal. The hotel is luxurious without being posh. Facilities are very nice. If you are into sports, it's very good for your condition to sleep at 2200 meters.

We loved the community feeling at the hostel. There is a very well equipped kitchen and while cooking, you meet many people there. Also, our host was very nice and helpful and suggested many activities in the area.
Boasting beautiful original décor, this charming hotel is centrally set in the oldest villa in the town of Orotava, surrounded by mountain scenery.

The property was great. Very welcoming staff. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but they still reserved a table for us.
The room was stunning. High ceilings, antique furnishings, and extremely comfortable bedding and mattress.

A historical town with character. Has a lot of good architecture and period villas. Walking around the city gets you back to 18th, 19th century.
If you appreciate historic towns this one should not be skipped.
Bonus: La Orotava is one of the 3 access points to mount Teide so if you plan to go up towards the mountain it's a good place to set a base at.

This little city is just a little gem: beautiful overall, colonial style architecture, well preserved, magnificent gardens, far from the noisy mass tourism, elegant, full of flowers, amazing vue. I've visited the city many times last year and with Puerto de la Cruz, I think is by far the nicest area on the island. I left in the early morning and I could smell the flowers fragances everywhere on the air.

Lovely old town from which to venture out across the north and northeast/northwest of the island. Visited in November and the climate was lovely for eating out in the various plazas and gardens of the town at night. Everything is on a slope so not ideal for the infirm but we felt safe and had no issues navigating about the city centre.

It was the perfect stop on the way to Teide national park.
It was the perfect stop on the way to Teide national park. Nice historic town - old grand houses / a good museum / a couple of gardens of interest, good views of the cost, a few good restaurants and a fun bar at the town centre / main square .. We ate at Dabeke a bit out of town but very good food and at Sabot Canario which was OK (limited menu but recommend the rabbit stew )... Gastro Lercaro looked very good but unfortunately it wasn't open for dinner while we were there ....

It is misleading to describe the Parador de Cañadas del...
It is misleading to describe the Parador de Cañadas del Teide as "La Orotava". Although administratively correct (the hotel belongs to the La Orotava municipality) La Orotava is a small, very nice, city, certainly worth visiting, but the hotel is where it should be: in the middle of the national park, dozens of kilometers from the city.
At the city: take a long, leasurely walk; enjoy the architecture, the pubs, the parks, the view, the food.
At the hotel: be prepared for good hikes -smaller ones also available; study the paths beforehand and walk, walk, walk!

Romantic town with colonial architecture and beautiful view...
Romantic town with colonial architecture and beautiful view of the ocean, but also Teide. Many possibilities for food and drinks. Very worthy to spend day or two. However, call in advance to reserve in restaurants because (especially during weekend) might be busy.
Very nice hostel, extremely cheap compared to the others on the Island. Wonderful location (well, at the top of a steep walk but overall close to town centre, the sea and the mountains, plus La Orotava is really a Jewel). Easy check-in, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Showers are spacious and with hot water, amazing terrace as common area.
At the time I went, once a week the staff prepares an amazing BBQ for a small contribution for all the guests!
Perfect location if you want to go to the Teide, but also very close to the Ocean
The location was fantastic for exploring the historic centre on foot and we were lucky enough to be able to park right outside throughout our 3 night stay.
Our room was very spacious and quiet and we had our own roof terrace which was great.
The staff were very friendly and helpful (they recommended the Parada Bar/Restaurant for dinner which was great in terms of location, food, service and value).
The breakfast was excellent and the hotel's roof terrace provided fantastic views from the sea to the volcano.
The Alhambra has the allure of luxury hotel but also the feeling of a bed&breakfast due to the homely atmosphere and the friendly host. Our room was quiet and large and the bathroom also large and comfortable. Parking the car in the street in front succeeded most of the times. Breakfast is good and is available at the desired time. La Orotava is a small town but there is a range of restaurants, and some typical buildings. It is also a good starting point for excursions.
Beautiful house in cozy country living style, well equipped with lots of amenities, modern kitchen with everything you need, extras like laundry machine and dryer ,bath tube , big terrace with sun beds , lounge chairs and BBQ. All surrounded by a big garden with lush nature. Complete private atmosphere, the area is very calm and offers stunning views down to the city La Orotava and to the sea. Everything is well maintained and clean.
Mary was an excellent host! She provided everything we needed for our beautiful studio apartment and the info she gave us for sights and restaurant recommendations were perfect. The studio is in the heart of Orotava, within walking distance of all major locations. We highly recommend it and we would definitely stay again if we ever return to Tenerife. Such a beautiful island and a fantastic apartment! Thank you, Mary!
If you want a visit to a North Tenerife village to see how folks live here, you have found the right place. Far enough from the tourist traps, you will live in a comfortable house with wonderful family history. El Teide is easy to reach on TF-24, and great restaurants and facilities are nearby. Dedicated parking for your car is available. We would return without hesitation.
This apartment is very spacious and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views out of the large windows are amazing. Located in the heart of town with ample, easy parking right up the street. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this property for your visit to Tenerife.
Comfortable bed, great kitchen with all basic amenities, helpful stay who provided great recommendations and was prompt to respond. Terrific location relative to hiking address and other places to explore nearby. Close to groceries and walking distance to botanical garden, la Orotava, and more.
Nice locality with breathtaking view on an ocean. Good locality for visiting La Orotava, we have made stop here for one night because of long way from south of the island to Puerto Cruz with one year old child. Staff is really kind and love kids. Diner was also really good.
Kids liked the terrace and the stones in it, my wife liked the kitchen and all equipment there and I liked the architecture of the house - the horizontal layers and custom made wooden parts. And we all liked La Orotava!
Great location for nature lovers and mountain climbers. Good hotel restaurant. A wide-screen TV is available in the hotel room, which can also be connected to a smartphone to view the taken pictures and videos.
Nice, clean apartment. Host (Colorado) was very kind and helpful. Beautiful, quiet surroundings with nature & orange tree fields around. The location was good; bus stop to la orotava nearby. I would stay again.
Super views down to the coast and inland to Mount Tiede. Nearby La Orotava is a very attractive town with a non-touristy atmosphere. Puerto del la Cruz with all of its facilities is just a short drive away.
Very nice and comfortable accommodation in a quiet neighborhood, beautiful apartment with easy parking and helpful and responsive owners. Highly recommended to explore La Orotava.
Friendly welcoming, Manfred is a fantastic host, he gave us all the information needed to visit La Orotava. Great atmosphere in Hostel Tenerife. Beautiful views from the terrace.
Hotel Alhambra is an absolutely beautiful accommodation! The building itself is fascinating, and the owner has decorated it with pieces of art and stunning period furniture.
Breakfast was not buffet, but it was very good. Very good location in La Orotava, a few minutes from the bus station. Quiet, comfortable and beautiful place.
