Mid sized town / long sea front promenade, mostly flat but some hilly stretches. Few shops along prom but all essentials. Several snackbars, cafes & restaurants along the front but we were happy to eat in the hotel; Big beach and sea mostly calm

Lots of restaurants open even in February.
Lots of restaurants open even in February. Beach restaurants also open. Food shops fabulous for self caterers, meat, fish, fruit, bread and cakes all good. Even a wonderful dressmakers shop that replaced a faulty zip at minimal cost.

Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .
Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .The town has centuries of history, but a lot was ruined by wars and earthquakes. It shifted to budget tourism from sugarcane and fishing in the 1960s. Now it's going upmarket. It's surrounded by orchards and hills, and has some lovely areas of charming villas. Culturally, it's a bit special. Even though it's a small town, It has an arts centre with a decent theatre. There are concerts two or 3 times a week, even in winter, and jazz, flamenco and theatre festivals in the summer. Good restaurants, nice beaches. Public transport isn't great unless it's midsummer, so if you don't have a car, I suggest that you stay somewhere near the centre.

It’s much bigger than we expected.
It’s much bigger than we expected. We visited it directly after the new year and experienced it to be empty. However it was full of life. Restaurants and bars were all open. The weather was perfect. The beaches were empty what made everything even better. Totally a pleasant surprise!

Hotel is short €1 bus ride from the town, which was lucky as there was not really much to do near the hotel in December. Luckily this time of year street parking is free. Room was large and clean. We were in room No.110 ground floor near reception we found it a little noisy but nothing worth mentioning.
There was a very good selection of food for breakfast and evening meals. Unfortunately the coffee had a strange taste every morning, so didn’t have any. Sadly none of the food that was meant to be hot, breakfast & dinner was - it was Luke warm.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional.
Loved las Gondolas. It's the best beach urbanization in my opinion in all of Almuñecar and I know the place for many years. It's clean, makes me feel like home, has absolutely everything that a modern apartment needs, the reception is 24/7, it's sunny, near everything. The owners of this particular apartment are quite welcoming and helpful if needed. The place is comfortable and quiet. Clean and tidy. Wi-fi was stable. Worth the long term vacation in my and my family case. Highly recommend.
10/10 for the hotel, deco, cleanness, and rooms.
My partner and I were amazed by the rooftop pool and bar. Very intimate, 5 or 6 jacuzzis and an infinity pool. AMAZING cocktails! The location was perfect for relaxing and ideal for a "getaway" from a busy life. This depends on what you are looking for in your holiday because Almunecar is very small - there are two restaurants. So if you are looking for a quiet hideaway this is your place!
Modern apartment with amazing view of the sea and the castle. Spacious, comfortable with fast wifi. Excellent location, very close to everything. Almuñécar itself is very walkable and a lovely town.
Many mention the loud music from across the street. We stayed from Sunday to Friday, and there was music (which is indeed loud even with closed windows) only on Sunday until 11 pm, so it didn't bother us. We will definitely be back.
We liked the size of the room and having an end balcony which gave us a partial view of the sea.
The beds were very big and comfortable. We thought the food was very good and offered plenty of choice.
We liked the rooftop bar and entertainment. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the old town, is very near the bus station and there is a taxi rank just opposite the hotel.
Location is great, just 600 m from the nearest beach. It is not for you, however, if you're not in fair physical shape and do not like to drive a car each time you want to bath. The house is 80 m above see level, so it's good exercise to climb up to it, especially at 32C.
The view is fantastic. Swimming pool is not very large, but my daughters-in-law enjoyed it.
Casita la Ribera is on the edge of Almunecar, with a lovely view of orchards and mountains. It's on a hill, but more accessible than we expected. And there's a short cut which allows you to walk to the town centre in 10 minutes. It's 15 minutes walk to the beach. There are plenty of good fish restaurants on the coast, and good grocery stores in town.
Chef and waiters were very friendly and helpful and ordered in porridge especially for my 2 year old. The chef also made him separate pasta due to egg allergy. Kids entertainment was good. Hotel is 1 min walk from the beach with chiringuito bars and has a bus service outside to get into Almuñécar for 1 Euro.
Comfortable and quiet and quite high up so lovely views out to sea. Rather steep walk down to the beach and back up but nearby and easy access. Not far round to Almunecar or up into the hills. Lovely area in every direction. Easy access for car parking.
Well it has the best location of any hotel in Almunecar, and the infinity pool and other areas are spacious and kept very clean and tidy. Go for a sea view room if possible well worth it. Parking isn't ideal but there is always a space somewhere.
Location is very good, 100m to a nice beach. Restaurants and supermarket nearby. Room is very spacious with balcony with nice sea view. Bed is very comfy. kitchenette with microwave and small fridge. Hotel staff is very friendly.
Lovely apartment in a great position overlooking the sea. It’s very well equipped and Francesca is a good host, she met us on arrival, explained everything, and also gave us recommendations for restaurants in Almuñecar.
This is a apartment hotel with full catering facilities, fridge, cooker, microwave etc in your own spacious apartment with a balcony so the value for money is excellent, Also a great location on the beachfront.
Delicious Breakfast buffet with eggs, a variety of hams, cheese, mermelades, fruits, excellent coffee and much more. A very comfortable and affordable hotel near everything in Alnuñecar.
Charming hotel with pretty decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast on the lovely front terrace with a soothing water feature and lovely view. Excellent value.
The hotel staff were amazing. Wonderful customer services. It is also in a central location with a great outside hotel bar/restaurant where you can work remotely.
We had a big apartment, the kitchen needs to be updated, looking quite sad, but otherwise the facilities were great. Best part of the hotel is the pool area.
