The beach at Playa de Vega is only 5mins walk away from the village, it has some great bars and restaurants, as well as surf school which the kids enjoyed. The village is on the Camino de Santiago and seems popular with camper-van trekkers so the feeling is very chilled, we spent most evenings at the beach with a glass of wine watching the sun melt into the sea. Away from the town of Ribadesella is about 15mins away by car with lots of stuff to do. We had almost a week there and frankly we all wanted to stay and not come home, and that included our two teenagers (15&16). The whole area is very beautiful and we will be back.
