Two day's is enough to see this City and the Cathedral.
Two day's is enough to see this City and the Cathedral. The Cathedral is free, but and you must pay for the museum and other sights within the complex. Not expensive. Lots of inexpensive restaurants near the Cathedral. Family run and very reasonable. Some very nice parks nearby. Plenty of shops. Very nice city to visit. very helpful people with locations, directions, etc.

Santiago de Compostela is a place That holds many enchantments. The cathedral is the central focus point of Santiago but they have a lot of the walking trails that you can go to and have some wonderful views of the two rivers, Sar and Sarella. It has also other churches that have much history and much architectural beauty as well. A lot of shopping options for those who want fashions or maybe just window shopping. The eateries are very good. There’s many restaurants with great options for food and different tastes of Spanish cuisine.

We did a round trip starting in Madrid, further to Portugal and ended in Galicia.
We could not have done better.
Santiago de Compostela is a perfect starting point to explore Galicia and we greatly enjoyed staying there.
Please note, that Santiago is the target of many pilgrims seeking spiritual inspiration.
We visited Santiago in December - where only a few tourists and pilgrims were seen.

It is a great way to test your resilience, endurance.
It is a great way to test your resilience, endurance. Discovered lots of various scenaries, cultural differences with my own. Imporved my Spanish. Pilgrims are usually very kind and helpful.
I did not like the number of pilgrims, too many doing just the last 100km and forcing us to book too long in advance to ensure we have space in albergues.
In Galicia expect rain!
Great life experience

Being in the old town of Santiago de Compostela, we were pleasantly surprised to find a completely modernized room with a/c in an ancient building. We were very centrally located to the cathedral and all the tourist areas, and we also had a lovely little balcony overlooking the street below and passersby. The room was very quiet despite the location. Service was quick and friendly, and the best was a gelato shop next to the entrance. We were there for two nights and could have stayed longer if we hadn't had to leave.
The hotel is in an ideal location in the heart of the city near the Cathedral. Our room was clean comfortable and very large with a bay window sitting area. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom large too. Staff were friendly and helpful - letting us leave our luggage before we even checked in. They also helped us secure a very early taxi to the airport. The breakfast is wonderful with an assortment of breads, yogurt, cheese, ham and lovely tarta de Santiago.
This is the second time I’ve stayed at Santa Filomena and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The rooms are quiet, spacious, modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful—and they speak English, if that helps you. The location is super convenient to just about everything in Santiago. It’s a great hotel and I’ll be back.
This is a very clean, modern facility still in the old part of Santiago, just across from one of my favorite little squares: Plaza San Roque. The airport bus has a stop only a minute walk from the hotel, and many good restaurants, bars and bakeries that are frequented by locals are a hop, skip and a jump away. The room was very clean and nicely layed-out.
Best lodging on the Camino! Small boutique hotel in a fantastic location in Santiago. We will be staying here when we are next in Santiago. A little slice of heaven. Outstanding owners and staff, fabulous cafe/bar downstairs with just what you want to eat after weeks on the Camino, super comfy beds, view from the 3rd floor. Hated to leave.
The Parador is located on the same square as the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. It is in the heart of the old city and within easy walking distance of any location you could want to seel. It used to be a hospital for pilgrims but has been turned into a hotel. There is history in every corner.
As a solo female I appreciated the safety of the pension. I liked that the doors were locked at 5:00 pm except to residents. Concierge was very helpful and place was super clean. I’d read reviews that the showers were small. That’s so not true; I’ve seen hotels in Spain with really small showers!
Perfect location to finish Camino - near cathedral and bus station. There is air conditioning in the room 👍 A man from hotel stuff was really kind and helpful and despite we came earlier he let us in ❤ He speaks English which is not common in Spain.
Excellent way to end our Camino - the Parador are world renowned and Santiago did not disappoint. the room and the view were excellent and you must spend some time walking throughout the hotel and learning the history.
The staff were excellent!
This hotel was perfectly situated in the old town of Santiago de Compostella.
It is wonderful to be able to have breakfast downstairs and their food and cafe which is brilliant.
I can recommend the guiness cake which was fantastic.
Girls from reception are great, friendly:-) Hotel is nice, clean, near cathedral. The only thing that was bad was our dark room with small window to backyard. But we stayed just two nights and we had beautiful sunny weather.
It is a nice facility not that far from the Santiago de Compostela airport, at outskirts of the city.
Non-pretentious, bur very much functional (which is for me very excellent correspondence with character of Spain :) ).
Location of this hotel is the best one. right in the city center, everything you need is up to 5 minutes walking.
very clean, quite and good place to stay during your vacation.
I would definetely recomend to stay here.
Very cute little hotel well situated in the heart of Santiago within 10 min from everywhere. My room was huge, the best thing was the 2x2 bed, I slept so well. The bathroom light mirror was amazing.
everything was great! one of the best hotels in Spain! very kind and friendly reception girl! we got many good advices where to go and eat!!! and our room has got wonderful balcony view 👍👍👍
I chose somewhere which had 24 hour reception, thinking it was more expensive than normal for Spain - turned out to be very nice indeed with bath and large balcony with views of the city.
This is a small but wonderful hotel within the old town centre of Santiago. It has been beautifully updated to modern standards. Great and super clean room and bathroom.
Enjoyed the ensuite bathroom and shower,as well as room on first floor. The cafe next door was excellent! Their cafe con leche was the best I’ve had in all of Spain!
