Famara has one of the best beaches on Lanzarote. The town is lovely and laid back with a 'surfers vibe' with some nice, small bars and restaurants. The beach is wonderful as well. We think that it is worth hiring a car though!

I loved the views, the beach, and the village which had a nice mix of tourists and local residents. It was quiet at night, as most people were sporty (surfers, walkers cyclists etc) and there were no noisy drunken parties. It was probably one of the best places for me to stay. There were several good cafes and restaurants + 2 Supermarkets. I think I would come back in October ,when the weather is a bit warmer and not quite so windyLydiaUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
Famara is a quiet, laid back, relaxing location.
Famara is a quiet, laid back, relaxing location. It's popular with surfers, as the beach and surf are both excellent. It's also ideal for just chilling out on a break. It's not modern, but has a charm of it's own. Very clean, and the roads have blowing sand at times - but this is part of the attraction. No traffic jams or loud clubs etc like the main tourist centres elsewhere. It was just what we wanted.

The house was perfect & my overall experience was highly positive....although Northern Lanzarote would be a couple of degrees Celsius cooler (on average per day) than Southern Tenerife (i.e. where I had just come from before traveling to Famara in Lanzarote). Also, in order to do a really BIG shopping, in a large supermarket, you'll need to travel to another town (either by bus or car), as Famara itself is quite small. But that's just the way I liked it : not too big & very quiet at night!

awesome! very long and broad beach, great scenery and not too many tourists. the tourists and the canarian people are friendly and do the best if you ask something. they speak merely english nor german, keep that in mind. you have to speak a few words spanish, but it's ok.

Such a chilled out place on the NW coast of Lanza, renowned for the surf, and the surf lifestyle. It delivers on both counts, with the long, wide beach home to stunning waves set to a glorious backdrop, and the town has plenty of cafes and restaurants ranging from tapas finger food to gourmet delights. It was easy to communicate with the host by WhatsApp who had good English. The property was well located, within easy walking distance of Famara beach and a quick drive to many other excellent surf locations. It is also right next to a good restaurant and close to the shops. My only concern was whether there would be any noise from the main street. However, I found it very quiet inside the property.

It is super close to the beach. It was easy to rent out surf equipment and go to the beach whenever we felt like it. 2 patios available to use, lovely kitchen and chilled living room. Kitchen is well equipped. Every room has beautiful little details. Alice was amazing host, very helpful. She even went out of her way to get us a grill (thanks!). The house is incredibly clean and comfortable with a lot of space. Its 2 mins walk from the supermarket, local bar, rentals and 10min walk to the beach. Caleta de Famara is a lovely small town with great bars and places to eat (incl veggie options), but it's also quiet and not too touristy.
