Alcossebre is a pleasant town with numerous beaches to visit. There is a large selection of restaurants and cafes to choose from. One of the main things to remember is that the shops close for siesta time between 2pm and 6pm. If driving the one-way system can be confusing, the town like many others in Spain lacks public conveniences.

The town itself is a pretty little seaside place with cafes and restaurants and a mixture of local shops and the usual touristy ones.
The beach is lovely, flat, soft sand, lots of space and lovely for both walks along the shoreline and swimming. At the time of year I visited it was quiet and seemed a lovely place for families. There are play parks for little kids too.
It's also a good base for walks into the nearby mountains, but I'm not fit enough for that so I don't know what they're like.

This was our first visit to Alcossebre.
This was our first visit to Alcossebre. We had been recommended by several people who like us, do not like loud , brash resorts with wall to wall TV bars and British menus. This is definitely a Spanish family friendly resort, It is small enough that you can walk around yet has enough restaurants, tapas bars and small shops to keep you occupied. We ate at several, El Palmeral, Alein and my favourite, Batiste which was also open for breakfast.
We went to the tomato festival at Alcala de Xivert, visited Torrenostra which has a huge beach (an nobody spoke English in the restaurants) and Peniscola (again a huge beach) but most importantly the castle of the Knights Templars. You can use the bus but a car would be a real advantage.

We've been going to Alcossebre for 7 years, with a short gap because of the pandemoc. We were introduced by some neighbours of ours who have an apartment there. We always go when the fiesta is on, the atmosphere is vibrant then, very Spanish. We'll most probably be there again next year!

Small seaside town north of Valencia, quiet and family...
Small seaside town north of Valencia, quiet and family oriented, can be very busy in summer or long weekends with long lines of people waiting for restaurants and packed beaches. The centre has not much to offer, the seaside however is pretty.

Lovely pretty town. Excellent restaurants and area.
Lovely pretty town. Excellent restaurants and area. Agora great fish & chips, Sebastian la perla in Peniscola a la carte. I'lla in the marina. Will definitely visit again. Easy but a negotiable one way system. Avoid the Villa that we stayed in. Lovely walks and everything within walking distance
The room is good sized and AC worked perfectly. Views are to the sea and the forrest. Room was cleaned every day. Staff was very nice, we got everything we asked for. We had a bit of an issue getting a cab to the airport (there are 3 cars in the city) but the reception staff helped to work it out and were really helpful. Breakfast is nice, and they even set it up earlier for us leaving in the morning.
The hotel is very close to the beach and the pool was also very useful.
Overall a nice experience and definitely value for money!
I had a wonderful stay at this elegant apart hotel which has lovely decor, is very near a great beach, has a great swimming pool and a top of the building infinity pool. Wonderful views!! Easy walk in to town. The reception staff were wonderfully warm, friendly, professional and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you like to have your own cooking/washing machine facilities/lounge and TV as well as having the support of reception staff.
One of those typical small family run hotels we love so much. Clean, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. Great breakfast served in the garden overlooking the sea. One of the great advantages is that the Restaurant D'Irta by Modesto Fabricat is within the hotel. We had the most amazing vegetarian lunch and dinner there especially made for us by Modesto Fabricat on their beautiful terrace.. Would definitely return.
I love the location of this hotel and the room I booked had a fabulous sea view. I am English but like that this is a mainly Spanish hotel as it gives me the opportunity to practicar mi Espanol!
Mini bar was topped up with water and fantas at no charge which I think is a great touch.
Also I had a bottle of Cava waiting on ice which was a great start to my holiday :-)
the shower had great pressure
beds were comfortable
bedroom had blackout curtains
TV had Netflix (not sure if provided by the hotel or some previous customer who forgot to log out)
there were two apples provided on arrival - appreciated that because I was starving on arrival
spa was well priced at 12 euros
The villa was in a quiet area a short walk from Cala Blanca beach. The various bars and other places to eat are a 15 / 20 minute walk away. Alcossebre has a variety of offerings and feels very safe. The pool is a good size and is well looked after. The villa has all the things you would expect.
Perfect location close to Playa Romana. Lovely swimming pool for residents. This time (and it's already our third visit to Alcossebre) we had an upper floor apartment with huge terrace, so there were amazing view of stars at night and sunrise in mornings.
The property is a great location to beaches, shops & restaurants. Great walks in surrounding area. Local Spar not far away. Mari Carmen can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. 😁
Good value hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, plenty of free parking, nice swimming pool over the road in front of the sea, hotel thoroughly cleaned every day, quiet location
