Breakfast quality was very high, varied and plentiful with local food.
We had 4 dinners - menu of the day - and they were exceptional. We did not expect it.
Located in Capileira, Hostal Rural Poqueira offers great views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Poqueira Gorge. There is a garden with an outdoor pool and a charming summer terrace.

Hotel Rural de Poqueira is located in Capileira, in the heart of Sierra Nevada National Park, which has been declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It offers a seasonal outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi.
This rural hotel offers mountain views, a seasonal outdoor pool and traditional restaurant. It is located in the charming village of Capileira, on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
Both free Wifi and parking on-site are accessible at Apartamentos Rurales Rosendo: "El Laurel" free of charge. The apartment consists of 2 separate bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a living room.
I try to get to Capileira twice a year. I love the peace and quiet and the immense amount of extremely well kept mountain hikes from simple to hard.
Eating out is relatively cheap and there is something for everyone.
If you like the outdoors, piece and quiet and a friendly location you can't overlook Capileira.

The people in the town were so friendly and the location is perfect for visiting all the other villages in the area. Ideal for walking with or without your dog (lots of cats). There is a great Indian restaurant with stunning views.

This village has a charm that is hard to explain, very rustic and the scenery is amazing. Best place to get away from the city and get some peace and quiet. Also great for hiking, there are many places to visit.

Lovely village for relaxing, The restaurants we tried served great food and was value for money. accommodation is always very well priced in early summer. great for hiking and the mountains. the local supermarket is very well priced and not hiked up for tourist. we seemed to get free tapas with every drink at the bars which was nice. this is my second visit to Capileira and i hope i have chance to go back again one day.

A lovely little town in a beautiful location with good access to mountain walks. Also good restaurants, good food shops and lots of artesian/souvenir shops. Traditional buildings and narrow streets make it very pretty. Plenty of free parking. Steep slopes everywhere might make it difficult for people with mobility or cardiovascular problems.
Ate at the Pizzeria, the Cerritos Negro and the Taverna la Trastienda de la Monja. All good but the Trastienda de la Monja was particularly good with a great range of vermouths and local wines, wonderful jamones tapas, good local stews and welcoming waiter/owner.

We could walk round the village from where we were staying, and there were plenty of excellent restaurants. We liked the Pizzarira in the church square , excellent service, very friendly, and the best pizzas we have ever had!
Those Apartaments are really great - very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equiped. You really have everything you may need including washing machine, fridge, microwave etc. Location is also very good - on the main street in Capileira, very close to the restaurants and shops, 50 metres from public parking where you can easily park your car free of charge.
Elena - despite the fact she doesn't speak English - was very helpful and friendly. We can definitely recommend Entre Senderos Apartaments if you visit Capileira.
The room was very clean and with all you need. On the last floor there is a common room with a small kitchen, dining table, fire place and reading space. There is also a terrace with an amazing view where one can have breakfast or simply relax at any time. Antonio and his family are very kind and helpful. The place is a real jam in the middle of Capileira with a wonderful personal touch. An extra is that it is a family run little hotel, so you can contribute to supporting the local business by staying at their place.
Staying here was magical, this was our favorite place of our Spain travels. There’s something about these mountain villages - beauty everywhere and taking a step back in time yet with modern plumbing! It’s a little rustic but has everything you need. Suggest you arrive while it’s still light out as we had some difficulty finding it in the dark. It is also a little ways from parking and has some fairly steep pathways to get to it. Fantastic views and a fountain down below with fresh mountain water.
Capileira is a magical town and the cottage felt like we were staying back in time...but with modern comforts. Lovely view and balcony, amazing stone floors and beam ceilings, nooks to explore. The trek from the parking to the cottage is quite an adventure - don't carry too much! - but also part of the charm of the town and an opportunity to see the scenery. Highly recommend for a unique, historic and interesting stay.
Lovely village and the hotel is really charming. Rooms very smart and super clean. Excellent shower. Lovely shared terrace - great views! - at the top of the hotel with coffee machine, tea, fridge etc. Managers were so welcoming and I don't think the pictures do it justice - it was a great surprise. Lovely quiet, pretty village to relax or head for the hills. Hotel well heated which is great as it's pretty high up.
Wonderful and the best stay in Capileira, AMAZING friendly & very helpful owners !! Stunning view from the room , very nice pool and lovely room style make your rest paradise:). Gorgeous and ideal Location just above Capileira surrounded by marvelous views with plenty hiking trails around. Nice and cozy restaurant with delicious menu.
SIMPLY WONDERFUL STAY !!
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was beautiful with amazing views of the mountains. The breakfast was delicious with local cheese, tasty bread, homemade pumpkin pie, and more. The soft background music, sunshine, and mountain views created a lovely atmosphere. I had a very pleasant experience overall. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Great location in the middle of Capileira, close to restaurants.
Nice toiletries: shower gel, shampoo & conditionner.
There is a kettle in the room with tea bags, which was nice. There is no fridge, which was a shame.
Quiet hotel and comfortable bed.
Good breakfast.
It’s a lovely apartment right in the center of Capileira, they have a restaurant which has a barbecue and we went there for dinner Saturday night and it was delicious. Very spacious and comfortable apartment, with a patio with a view of the mountains. I hope to return!
Everything - what a beautiful place! Perfectly situated in Capileira with delightful decor, well equipped for cooking and relaxing, and impeccably clean. Lovely terrace looking out to the hills. Helpful and accommodating host. Great base for hikes in the region.
Just live the place, it was perfect for a relax out and everyone was so nice and helpful. The hotel has great views and all the services you need. We also tried the breakfast and has options for everyone with fresh food.
The hotel staff were very lovely, super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. The pool was a great size and perfect for an afternoon swim. Everything was perfect.
The place was truly special and food exceptional! what a fabulous dinner and breakfast and highly recommend eating in their restaurant! Best food we had in Spain and great prices.
