A one night stop over is not fair to judge a location.

More time spent exploring would help give a better overview. Impressions of an evening walk to get food was that Palencia is a large town comprised of a cathedral and blocks of flats - not really fair perhaps to Palencia!

As we were only there for one night it’s difficult to give a proper review but we thought it was nicely middle market, there would have been lots more to see than we could fit in but what we did see we liked

We loved the street life, the buildings, the cafes and bars and we were lucky enough to be there during the Palencia festival which added to the whole experience. People were friendly and helpful. The town is easy to navigate with lovely old buildings and the very old cathedral was especially interesting.

We walked down the main pedestrian avenue and found it run down and shabby. There were a few smart shops but a huge number of shop premises were empty and neglected and had attracted several beggars. On the way to Portugal we spent one night in Valladolid, a beautiful town and in complete contrast to Palencia. I know where we will be staying next time.

A workaday Spanish town with the a lovely cathedral.
A workaday Spanish town with the a lovely cathedral. Riverside walk and other "attractions" were fine but then after visits to Cordoba and Salamanca many towns and cities in Spain would feel a little underwhelming.
I slept well which is always the main thing. Hotel feels classy in a sort of 1990s way! Free parking options just a few minutes walk behind the hotel. Good wifi , lovely park over the train tracks with some nice cafes and bars next to St Pablo church. Palencia as a town is really nice and quite underrated so it is perfect for a one night stop. I do have suggestions for improvement (see them below!) but on the whole I was satisfied and would return.
Booked one night and stayed an extra! Friendly helpful staff especially when we were lost! Quiet room, very clean and comfortable, fabulous shower. Parking good. It's about 20-25 minutes walk into town (taxi when we were lost was 6€), a couple of closer local bars are open during the day with coffee at 1.20€! Palencia is a lovely city. This is really good value place to stay.
Rooms are very clean and good size. Receptionist was excellent. We requested a specific room based on our last visit, the hotel acknowledged this on arrival but as this room was occupied they gave us a similar quiet room on another floor which we enjoyed just as well. Parking is secure and easy to access as we have a large SUV. Easy walking distance to the main areas.
The owner of this hotel, Lourdes was amazing. She literally made us feel like family. She was extremely welcoming and genuinely friendly. She was always available when we needed help, took the time to talk with us and get to know us, and made us a lovely breakfast in the morning.
The hotel itself was nicely decorated and the rooms were clean and beautiful.
The reception staff were friendly and fluent in Spanish (as you might expect) and English. Good on street parking nearby but, if you have a full car that needs some privacy, their own parking is only 10 euros a night - much less than others. Yes, it's a lift not a ramp, but aim straight and it's easy. We travel often via Palencia and will be back.
Arrived by Motorcycle.Booking in went smoothly.Parking was a little scary for us as the underground car park had steep ramps going down but we managed ok,Coming up was sorted with a little planning,It all went well.Loved the Hotel was great value and situated just off the main Highway,Very easy to find with sat nav.All very clean and bedrooms nice.
This is a very good hotel, and very good value for money. It is within easy walking distance of the Palencia train and bus stations. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They have a very nice common kitchen and dining room downstairs. And very good that the reception desk is manned the whole day.
Exceptionally clean and comfortable place - management sent us clear instructions way before our arrival and everything was great from the start. Definitively recomended to all who wish to visit Palencia. There is a public (paid) parking just below the building which is really convenient.
Excellent, many clean rooms, and a kitchen with great accessories. Great value, we only got a small hotel room for the same price and here you're getting an entire flat!
Isabel was friendly and helpful always.
Also, the place has a huge television.
good but simple hotel close to most facilities in Palencia if you are able to walk. Restaurants in close reach but the town is slightly further away. Good rooms with all uo need. Good garaging although needed help (given) to find our slot.
Best choice for people who don''t like hotels. You have more space, small kitchen, electric kettle to prepare hot drinks. Quite place during a night. It was close to everywhere, grocery and supermarket right behind the corner.
Nice hotel in the city center of Palencia.
Bar and restaurants near the hotel, bus stop in front of it.
The room was ok, everything was clean and the staff really helpful.
Good breakfast in the morning.
This overnight stop was perfect as it was approx 2 hours from Santander, where we disembarked from Plymouth. Great hotel with underground parking (12 Euros)and a good restaurant
Property did not exist or was not as advertised.
Could not find it and could not get in touch with host. Had to book into a hotel with 2 dogs!! Not ideal after a 7 hour drive!!😡
