In the old town so near to everything one needs to see I'm Segovia. Staff checked in earlier than indicated as the room was already available. Nearby street parking seems always full. But free and huge
parking 10-15 minutes walk away.

Nice solid hotel to stay for a night or two and visit Avila, friendly staff, and I have nothing to complain. Visitors can park their cars nearby for free or for an additional fee in the hotel garage. A few steps away from the famous Cuatro Postes viewpoint. Not really far from the city walls if you like to walk.

Location near the wall was excellent and the hotel was so nice. The breakfast was very good. We ate dinner there as well and the food was really excellent. The staff was helpful. Not much English is spoken, but a little bit of Spanish and a phone translator program was good enough!
We followed the hotel's directions (sent by email prior to our stay) and found the hotel very easily.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful, to explain things. Very new, still new-smelling, hotel. Underground parking was spacious, easy to use, with direct elevator access to room floor. I was able to leave car in car parking beyond checkout time.

When viewed against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Ávila is truly a spectacular sight. Its fully intact walls rise majestically from a hill, and the many semi-circular towers and 9 gates give it added character. Begun in the 11th century, these incredible fortifications are the symbol of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city.
Partly built into the walls are the rather fortress-like cathedral and the Convent of Saint Teresa, erected in honour of the saint whose childhood was spent in a house on the same spot. Her relics are here, making it a popular pilgrimage spot. The city’s biggest festival is also in her honour and includes a colourful parade, fireworks and fights in the bullring.
Teresa entered the Incarnation Convent in Ávila, but found herself at odds with the practices, so founded a new monastery: the Convent of Saint Joseph. Of the city’s other religious structures, the Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas is particularly of note as it contains the tomb of Don Juan, son of King Fernando.
Other Ávila sights include the Torreón de los Guzmanes - a tower attached to the provincial council headquarters – and the Four Columns monument which offers fabulous city views.
The Ávila accommodation on Booking.com includes boutique hotels, traditional guest houses and cheap apartments near the train station.
Avila is quite nice for sightseeing. My problem is with the food industry. We are vegan and the options for us to eat were poor at best. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food represented as vegan to us was very poor quality, even at nicer restauraunts.

There is almost 2 miles of beautiful ancient city walls holding many interesting old residential structures accessible by small hilly alleys. As the streets are hilly so tourists need to have some comfortable walking shoes to explore the surrounding.

Avila got its unesco status because of its fortress wall and well deserved too. Wish we could walk on its parapet/battlement all the way round.
We ate all our meals at restaurants inside the wall like a lot of other tourists. If you can find fartons for breakfast, they are incredibly cheap and deliciously fresh.
I wish we were better informed by the tourist information centre (on same site as our hotel) about the Heullas Teresa de Jesus pilgrimage and be given a booklet to be stamped for our visit (as like for camino).

A nice city to spend the weekend.
A nice city to spend the weekend. It's small but one can highly enjoy its' parks, monasteries and city walls. Also the food is a big advantage of the city, so if you need a weekend location close to Madrid where you can enjoy the food and the views, Avila is your place.
This property was a pleasant surprise. The room was excellent and the location was in the center of the the city of Avila. I would recommend that the management update its marketing and pictures as what is currently published does not reflect the value and very good condition of the hotel. I was apprehensive and pleasantly surprised once we entered the lobby and even more so when we entered the room. Good size and nice view of the city walls next to the Cathedral. We would definitely stay at this property if in Avila again.
Beautiful hotel located in the city centre next to the cathedral, very close to restaurants and historical buildings. The hotel was very quiet, beautifully decorated, unique floral motifs painted on the walls, wonderful floral fragrance spread throughout spacious corridors. Outstanding breakfast. One of the most pleasant hotels we have been to in Spain. Definitely to be recommended!
The Parador has a fantastic location: near(and inside) the wall of Avila, with its own parking space but also near public parking spots. The hotel had a beautiful garden, its own bar and restaurant. You can eat and drink on the beautiful terrace, in the shadow of the trees in the garden. Rooms are large access the beds are excellent. The rooms have airco but also excellent shading.
I liked the location of the hotel. It is exactly in the old town of Avila. If you like to immerse your heart in vintage life and experience the beauty of the Middle Ages, stay here. if you are looking for comfort and a hotel with a modern interior and all inclusive, it is better to stay somewhere outside the old city. The staff are very welcoming and polite. Highly recommended.
Our host went out of her way to welcome us and explain everything about the apartment, the city, the sights, and the best restaurants. It was the perfect location in Avila just outside the city wall and a block from the main gate. Shopping was a couple blocks away. The location was close to everything but still quiet at night when we wanted to sleep.
Very rural and quiet, but only 30 minutes from Avila. Our host was very accommodating and made check in very easy. She was also quick to respond to our inquiries. The house was cozy with a large sunroom and a fully equipped kitchen. the house itself had a country charm to it, as did the area where it was located.
Long walk from train station but hotel is easy to find esp when it is by the front gate of old Avila fortress town. Odd that the room is small but bathroom is large . Very warm as the wall is about a metre thick. Love to be able to stroll outside the Avila walls safely at night.
Positioned 5km outside of the stunning old town of Avila with great views over to the town.
Our 2nd year at this hotel. Will happily come again next year
Only 5hrsish from /to Santander.
Totally dog friendly. With plenty of accessible outside space to walk him.
Location. Nice restaurant. (Italian, which was a welcome change, and many locals use it.) Good view from room over a pretty little square. A little noisy at night (it is in Spain!) but very quiet once the restaurant had closed. Helpful with storing our bikes.
Beautiful hotel in the old part of Avila. Renovated, modern interiors with all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. Elegant spacious rooms with old parts of walls and fabric colors perfectly blending. Very comfortable beds and delicious à la carte breakfast.
I loved this hotel! I was a bit surprised by the negative reviews (i.e. uncomfortable bed, no how water, etc), but we didn't fined any of that. Very charming, warm, great staff and location. The bed was AMAZING. It was a great one-night stay for us!
Beautiful hotel within the fortified walls of Avila. The room was perfect and the en suite had a fabulous tub bath. Breakfast was served rather than buffet style which was lovely. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection.
The location in Avila us fantastic but the location in Avila us also a very big problem with parking. Some of the staff like the reception staff was great, the restaurant staff was not so great.
This hotel was good value for money given how centrally located it was, just of the Mercado Chico square in central Ávila. The room was comfy, with an en-suite bathroom.
