Great location, very organised owner, comfortable room
This charming guest house is located right on the Camino de Santiago, opposite the Santa María Church in Carrión de los Condes. It offers en-suite rooms and an excellent restaurant.

A quiet huge hotel, full of atmosphere, courtyards, sitting rooms, chapels, lovely worn old wooden floors ( shuffling monks feet?), huge doors, shutters, airy corridors and bedrooms . A well converted monastery which has not lost any of its monastic charm.
The restaurant was spectacular. We had the most delicious dinner and a very good bottle of local wine.
Finding the hotel was easy and a short stroll across the bridge into the town where groups of pilgrims enlivened the very empty quiet streets.
A very good place to stop off enroute to the Santander or Bilbao ferry.

The building and its atmosphere makes the hotel special,...
The building and its atmosphere makes the hotel special, quite jaw-dropping when I first arrived. The plainsong you will hear, unfortunately, comes from a tape. I ate a pizza in the bar which was not impressive. I didn't have the hotel dinner - €25 seemed overpriced for what I imagined. The staff were pleasant, professional, not a lot of English spoken. The location is beautiful, on the edge of a town and the small river Carion that runs under a historic bridge - but the town itself is not of great interest, although there is a Dia supermarket about 5 minutes walk away. It is well-placed for travelling further west. There are advertised special facilities for Camino walkers - massages - but I did not try this. I know my review sounds ambivalent but this is a nice place in a beautiful building and I would recommend it.

Unusual hotel a little out of town but popular with those travelling along the Camino de Santiago. Nice terrace where we had lunch and a pre dinner drink. Room was small but had everything and it was great to wander about the hotel and see the remnants of the old monastery and the cloisters. Dinner was lovely in the restaurant overlooking the grounds. Our room overlooked the courtyard. Breakfast was €12 each but was a wide selection of meats, cheese, pastries breads and cakes. We had a lovely walk over to the park along the river.
Location is wonderful on the edge of town with parkland. Building is beautiful and we visited the monastery too before we left -guests visit free just ask. Beds super comfy and room much bigger than expected. Room was in a very quiet area of hotel overlooking inner courtyard so didn’t hear any noise from the big event going on. Reception staff on arrival not that friendly but may be language issue. Staff in morning more friendly
This hostal is clean, bright, comfortable and located right on the main plaza with lots of interesting restaurants, shops and markets close by. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly and clearly concerned about the well being of the guests. My bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. This is an excellent choice for a stay in Carrión de Los Condes.
I loved this small hotel and the woman who runs it was friendly upon check in and offered to do all my wash that afternoon for 3E. While there is no restaurant attached, there are plenty around the corner and she recommended a perfect place for dinner. The room was very comfortable. The price was right and it was right on El Camino.
Big room bathroom veranda which looks out into a beautiful big serene courtyard. The interior of the hotel combining old world with modern amenities is a 10. Our lunch and dinner was delicious. Beautiful grounds well kept. The monastery museum is a plus!
I don’t know… I didn’t stay there. When I arrived, I was told that she got a booking for a group of 10 people and needed to give my room to them. so she booked me at Oasibeth… now Oasibeth was a nice hotel and only cost 5€ more.
This is a a gem of a hostel. Better than many small hotels. Clean bright with the best shower of the Camino so far. There is a lovely restaurant attached which has a delicious dinner for €12 and a simple breakfast for €3.
Comfortable, nice staffs, right next to the camino and village center. And amazing restaurant run by the hotel; the dishes served there were the best ones i had during the camino francés from Saint Jean till this point.
Excellent location in town. I'm not a fan of self check in kiosks but the owner was there to help so no problems. It's a nicely updated and modern hotel with a wonderful pool and deck. Recommended.
Very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable room. The self check-in is very convenient and easy. Better than most of the hotels I've stayed in. Would love to come back here again!
It is a very good and friendly hotel, quiet, very clean, excellent beds, perfect location, very close to Camino, supermarket, bars and restaurants. I even had a nice balcony
Great location not a hostal it's a hotel everything thought out well and room wanted for nothing super clean for pilgrims treat yourselves to this oasis in Camino dessert
The location and the hotel's staff treatment were really good. They even let me keep my suitcase in there while I was taking part in a race on the same checking out day
Clean. Centrally located. Friendly. Good hot water. Bathtub. Good value. Have stayed at San Zoilo many times but would stay at Hostal Albe over that monastery.
