Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.
Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot. Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.
Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

We drove to where the old Mines are and there is a fabulous walkway along the cliff tops with breathtaking view and educational information points about the iron ore and how it was mined.
Teto's Bar is a very well known beach bar from the 60's and still has that hip sort of feel to it - serves fabulous authentic paella as well as other foods.
Went to Garucha (local buses go)to watch the fishermen bringing there catch into the market to sell and then ate in Garucha in a little gem of a restaurant and winery called Al Tikar (the menu del dia is excellent and inexpensive.
Very accessible promenade for daily excercise.
There are many other eateries like the modern Auraora restaurant just accross the road which we frequented a few times as they have two sports TV's playing at the bar.
The old town 'El Pueblo' is an enchanting white washed village in the hills, again the Urbanos de Mojacar will get you there and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel.

Beautiful lively seaside resort with plenty of good bars, restaurants and live music venues. Easy to get around using taxis or the local bus service.
The resort was much bigger than expected and provides fantastic facilities for families and young people but could pose problems for older, less mobile people due to it's size and many steps.

We stayed in Mojacar because we were revisiting all our old friends in the general area and it was the ideal base.
The restaurants are plentiful and very good quality.
Although we are not beach people they are excellent as is the promenade, very walkable.
There is an excellent bus service although we did not need it.
If you have a car drive down to the Cabo de Gata, our favourite place in Spain. Or visit the historical city of Almeria.
If you are a film buff then Almeria is the Spanish Hollywood. Three cowboy towns near Tabernas and a Cine Museum in Almeria City.

A beautiful coastal resort with lots of various eating places, bars and shops for tourist. Although we were on half board we ate out some lunchtimes further into Mojacar Playa. Very easy to get around as there are plenty of buses going to various places and lots of free car parking spaces. There really is nothing that is untoward in Mojacar only thing I can think of is the beach further up towards the town has a big drop into the sea and not really suitable for children.

I,ve been Travelling to Mojacar for 30 years in Total but Through work & Always stayed in The Puntazo Generally these were 3 week trips either once or twice per year.I moved to an area 30 mins away from Mojacar in 2007 until 2014 where i was working based in Mojacar,my last Trip to Spain was 2018 & since covid i hav'nt returned but i had to come over to Check over my property & This Hotel could'nt have been any better placed its location is very good for most Amenities in walking Distance & Being on the playa its ideal. The playa is very long but its accessible either by Bus or Taxi or a pleasant walk if you hav'nt a hire car, trust me it was'nt like this 30 years ago 😊
The apartment is in a lovely position overlooking the pool which would be great for anyone with children in the warmer months. The host went out of his way to get the keys to us as our flight times weren't the best. The host has made contact with us throughout the stay checking that everything was ok for us. Well equipped clean and tidy appartment , bus stops on beach road less than 5 mins walk which will take you into the centre of Mojacar or up to the village. Will definitely use again in the future !
Lovely modern, spacious self contained apartment. Pool was lovely, quiet and clean. Nice terrace to sit with friends. Quiet complex and safe and secure. Parking is located through gated community in the underground garage. Lovely bars nearby and Badgers for breakfast was great value! €1.20 to ride the bus anywhere in Mojacar. Worth the trip up to the Pueblo, beautiful narrow and winding whitewashed buildings - streets lead to lots of different artisan shops, bars and restaurants.
The place overall felt delightfully casual. And there were some truly exceptional elements. The location on the edge of Mojacar pueblo, with all the quaint streets and tavernas right on the doorstep, made it a pleasure to walk out the door. We had an apartment with a wall of window looking out onto an expansive view of the valley below. And that terrace! A true delight to come home to and rest after a day's hiking in the Cabo de Gata. Who couldn't love the overall package?
Hotel staff were very pleasant ! Room very comfortable and immaculately clean !! Towels and toiletries replaced every day ! Cannot fault the service they provided ! Lovely swimming pools & Jacuzzi ! Bus stop near hotel for Mojacar pueblo and Garrucha ! Hotel very Covid compliant ,felt safe here ! Entertainment a bit disappointing ,stayed 4 nights and no real good entertainment on !!
This hotel/motel is literally on the beach, and our corner suite was immaculate, enormous (separate living room and little balcony/terrace), and nicely decorated. Much more than we expected for the price, and with free onsite parking to boot. Oh, breakfast was good, and so were gin and tonics on the patio!
It’s a 1 star hotel so can’t ask for too much from it. I chose to stay there because there was no availability at other 3 or 4 star hotels. I think it’s a bit overpriced since better hotels were like 60€ more for the 4 nights that I stayed so the price is very expensive for what it offers.
The location is superb, Alberto our host was a true gentleman, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the pueblo near the church, we took advantage of their underground parking which gave us immediate access to the shops, bars and restaurants.
Traditional style, family run hotel.
Just outside Mojácar Pueblo, away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront but bus stop right outside.
Spotlessly clean
Lovely pool.
Great air conditioning.
Welcoming staff.
The apartment is really nice, it is small but very charming, with a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and a sleeping room. It is located in Mojacar village walking distance from all attractions of the village.
beautiful protected beach metres away. fab bus service to the incredible hilltop village of Mojacar Pueblo and Indalo (every 30mjns) 50 metres from hotel. great variety of entertainment great pools and food
The view is great, the room had all the things we need. The hotel provided the detailed check-in instruction and the parking instruction. The parking space is good enough for our car.
This is a great place to stay if you aim to visit the old village of Mojacar. After a long hot day of discovering the region, we enjoyed the swimming pool and the jacuzzi!
