Set within 600 metres of Basilica of Saint Eulalia and 200 meters from Roman Theatre & Amphitheatre in Merida, Hotel Apartamentos MPD features accommodation with a flat-screen TV. The larger room with kitchenette and shower room was very clean and ideal for a short (or longer) stay in Merida - the location just a short walk from the Museum of Roman Art and the Roman ruins is unbeatable, there is a well-stocked Spar convenience store next door and the secure underground parking (10 Euros a day) is a bonus if you are on a driving tour of the region. The check in process was very easy and the staff are very friendly - highly recommended.

The kitchen was well stocked and the big screen TV was a bonus. The AC provided much needed heat during cold nights. The location could have been closer to the city center but I knew this from the start. There's a Dia supermarket a few blocks away.

Offering fantastic views of the Gredos Mountains, La Hospedería Del Silencio features gardens with an outdoor pool. Set in the countryside, it is 1 km outside Robledillo de la Vera. We made our own breakfast. We did like the quiet beautiful atmosphere, the views, the surroundings well tended to.

Set just outside the Extremaduran town of Zafra, Hotel Las Atalayas offers an outdoor pool and tennis court. Rooms and bungalows include a balcony, flat-screen TV, fridge and free Wi-Fi. The hotel had alot of potential but they have stopped maintaining it for years. There is a big wedding hall and alot of outdoor space. Location is just 5mins from Zafra. Looks nice but...
