First of all the team here are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. It was cold and damp outside so asked if we could buy some food from the supermarket opposite and eat in the dining area as it was closed on a Tuesday. We were made very welcome. Excellent value for money, dog friendly and free parking just a few metres away, what’s not to like. To add to our experience, Lerma is absolutely stunning. We will be back on our return visit, hopefully when it’s warmer 😀

Lerma is good for a overnight stay on the way up or from Santander ferry to an ongoing trip. The Parador (fort) is worth a quick visit and a couple of small churches and Monasteries and a old walled gate to visit if you have a bit more time

Stayed at Hotel Alisa which was very good having previously stayed at the Parador which is now very expensive. The Alisa is a 20 minute walk to the old town of Lerma which has an interesting square, church and convent. The Parador, formally a Ducal Palace, is also on the square and open to non residents, it is a must to go for a drink in and is steeped in history. The only issue may be the steep but short walk up from the main road, it is about 500m long but there is a nice bar half way up and several bars at the square. There are several restaurants in side streets off the square that specialise in the local roast meats.

We really enjoyed staying in a converted palace.
We really enjoyed staying in a converted palace. The building was fabulous! The rooms themselves were not overly impressive but they were nice and the bed was comfortable. It's not upscale but the experience was unique and we all really enjoyed our stay.

Superb old Spanish town with photograph-worthy sights at every turn, but feeling the pressures of tourism. Eating here is especially expensive in general, particularly compared to the areas where I spend the winter months around southern Spain.

Beautiful place to stay and we will stay again when we are driving through Spain to our house, we stayed there e route to the ferry at Santander and made a perfect stopover and a treat for our 51st Wedding Anniversary. The dinner and breakfast was well worth paying the extra, wonderful service and good food, we had the roast Suckling Lamb which was delicious and the portions were huge and came after a huge starter and a lovely dessert completed our meal.

Stopped at this hotel in December on our way down south from Santander & again yesterday on our return journey to Santander .
We gave two dogs and this stop is ideal - just off the motorway and we and our dogs were roundly welcomed, dogs allowed in bar !
It’s not fancy , bit old fashioned but very comfortable beds and dinner was very good and great value .
The town itself is worth having a Walk around - very interesting !
We had a lovely at Hotel Rural El Zaguan.. The weather was freezing but we were made welcome with coffee and homemade biscuits, and a beer. The building is lovely, full of character. We were lucky enough to be allowed to bring our two dogs along, free of charge. The breakfast was good, cold ham, bread, fruits and coffee. Would definitely stay again when on route to ferry. The host made us feel very welcome.
This hotel is fantastic and great for an overnight stop on the way to the Santander ferry from Murcia. Lerma is a picturesque little town with lots to see and do. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming and everything was beautifully restored in the village house. My daughter loved the swimming pool and the grounds are fab for relaxing. Looking forward to visiting again and would definitely recommend.
Our first experience of a Parador hotel was a pleasant stay. There was some confusion on the type of room booked, but that was soon sorted. We opted for the free parking outside the hotel (cars are usually safe in these small towns & villages). Breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
Amazing place. The hotel was very confortable, very clean. Very easy to find and the parking was great. Great food in the bar underneath. This is a family run business the lady and her dad. They couldn’t be nicer..I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again.
Breakfast tortilla, homecooked and warm. Plenty of meat and cheese choices, yogurts, cookies. Coffee came in a large jug, as did the hot milk. Wonderful. Gateau as well. Lerma is worth seeing. Plenty of free parking nearby.
Lerma is a great stop over location for us travelling to and from Spain. This hotel didn't disappoint with a very welcoming and friendly host. Local bar handy for drinks and food recommended by host was very good
The palace is truly amazing. Lerma is also well situated in a stunning landscape with easy access to freeways. I'd happily recommend this parador. Dinner in the restaurant was a real treat
Quirky hotel with cozy rooms. Very comfortable. Very dog friendly. Brilliant breakfast. Street parking outside the hotel in a safe area. Just off the motorway in a lovely little town.
The historic building and old Lerma were the highlights.
Good choice at breakfast but we did not try the cooked breakfast. It was not explained to us what choice there was available.
Clean and modern. This little hotel is 1 minute from the beautiful Parador, in the centre of the cobbled streets of historic Lerma. Simple, tasty breakfast. Would stay there again.
