Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards.

An old and interesting building, the car lift down to the underground parking was amazing
Offering free Wi-Fi, Hotel Exe Alfonso VIII is located just beside the main square of the charming town of Plasencia. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms include flat-screen TVs and a minibar.

Breakfast was tepid, the so called hot dishes were not hot, the coffee was luke warm. Overall a poor offering.
Located 5 minutes' drive from Plasencia centre and with easy access to all major roads, this hotel is just a 20 minute drive from the beautiful Monfragüe Park.

Hotel position, perfect for travelling from the Algarve to Santander. Good price, comfortable bed, nice room and facilities. Decent parking.

Plasencia is a small town, the centre has narrow hilly streets, parking in the centre is difficult but there is plenty of free parking near to the park with an escalator to take you up the steep hill to the centre. There are several supermarkets, a Carrafeur on the North side and several smaller supermarkets on the south side. There is a river running along the East side.
There are many restaurants available, fast food near to the Carrafeur and more upmarket ones in the centre. Plasencia is at the foot of the Jerte valley, where most of the cherries in Spain are grown, you can drive to the top of the valley, which takes around an hour and is very scenic.

Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists.
Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists. We booked in advance a guided visit (in English) through the tourist office wich is to recommend.
We tried the restaurants InMercado and Casa Juan and both had good food to fair prices. Casa Juan had an unusual table decor and served a typical local dinner including the sheep milk cheese Tarta de Casar.

Surprisingly attractive old town which is the perfect base for touring this attractive region. Atiu can walk everywhere particularly around the medieval walled city with a myriad of narrow pedestrian streets and bustling plaza full of bars, quaint shops and restaurants. We liked the traditional Bar Espagnol and for breakfast El Montadito. Churros are a must!
Thé quarter around the parador is particularly stunning with old churches, plazas and monumental decaying palaces topped by multiple stork nests. Similarly around the old cathedral, Santa Clara monastery. Calle Del Sol is the main shopping street leading to a lively plaza just outside the city walls. Take time to visit La Isla gardens beside the River Jerte, also popular cafe and restaurant with outside terrace, where a riverside walk takes you all the way up to the dam and reservoir in the Jerte valley. In the summer this provides the local people with a large outdoor nature asl swelling pool. From here you can discover the north of this attractive region. Taking day trips by car to the Jerte valley, La Vera, Ambroz with Hervas, then the towns of Caceres, Trujillo, Guadalupe and the incredible Monfrague national park.m with its towering crags g ce ibères with black and griffon vultures. Definately worth a longet stay

The hotel is located on an industrial estate.
The hotel is located on an industrial estate. The heating in our room was not working, so we had to change rooms which the management did straight away. We had a very basic evening meal, but the breakfast was very poor.
I would suggest this hotel is best suited to people working in the area rather than tourists.

You follow a little stream for about half an hour.
The centre of Placencia is walled with a cathedral in the middle.
A lovely square is nearby where you can eat.

Very nice small town, with an interesting old part.
Very nice small town, with an interesting old part.
But Beware of the Public Parking in the centre! It has 4 floors but the first two are private! So you have to go down a narrow and winding lane to the two bottom floors. The spaces are also very narrow and it can be hard to manoeuvre with a big car.
Location, comfort, value, cleanliness and staff. This hotel is a staple of the city. Now under the EXE mgmt, it still retains traditional furnishings and has been upgraded. As a group of 3 adults, we were on the top floor with a wonderful terrace with great views of the cathedral and mountain rage (Santa Barbara). Restroom was a little small, but great shower, toiletries, bidet, and quality towels. Partnered Parking facility was very, very close. Main Plaza Major right around the corner. Highly recommend.
The hostal is perfectly located just inside the medieval city walls and 2 minutes from the attractive, lively plaza. The hotel is very reasonably priced, so the room is more than adequate with a large double window looking onto the walls, hot shower with a good flow. The heating in the tool worked well too. The service was very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to park our car in front and they allowed our ancient dog to stay free. We thought the hotel is a real fond.
Despite needing an upgrade the room was spacious and clean. We even had a balcony which would have been lovely if the weather had been better. As it was on the edge of town, there was plenty of car parking at the front of the hotel. It was such a shame it was foggy the next morning as there were lovely views of the surrounding hills. We only stayed one night.
We liked the location of the hotel, the size of the room and the size of the comfortable beds.
The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water.
All the staff were so friendly.
The breakfast was also delicious with a lovely selection of meat, cheese and especially the choice and variety of fresh fruit.
Beautiful hotel..we had a fabulous room with large balcony..Very central for exploring Plasencia, literally 2 min walk to square which has lots of restaurants to choose from..second time staying here and will certainly be back..parking straight across the street.
The owner met us by the secure, free car park which was a few minutes walk from the apartment. Central for all to see in Plasencia. The apartment was clean and quiet and ideal for a couple. If you need help the owner is ready to help.
Good: location, new, clean, bed.
Spacious apartment and well located to visit the city center of Plasencia. Clean, quite new, and really really comfortable king size beds. It was okay for a weekend stay.
Beautifully furnished and maintained apartment overlooking the Plaza Mayor in Plasencia. Easy and efficient online check-in with very helpful online text responses. Wonderfully located.
Beautiful apartment in Plasencia. Clean, quiet, comfortable and an easy walk to whatever you want to see inside the city walls. Great for a single person or a couple. Don't hesitate.
The location was excellent for us because it was right on our bicycle route. The hotel’s restaurant was filled with friendly local people. All staff members that professional.
not a lot - the location is awful, the photo showing the pool doesn’t give any indication of the fact the hotel is on an industrial estate and is very misleading.
