parking just in front of the hotel, quiet area despite being in walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, bars. the best was being able to sit in the garden and read peacefully. check-in was super simple and no problem that I did my booking 30 minutes before arrival. room was spacious and had a great view with large windows. would come again!

This is a fantastic hotel, just a short walk from the center of town. The staff were welcoming, kind, and accommodating. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast very much. We had a room on the first floor and liked sitting in the chairs out front of the room, taking in the view and night air.
If you are a light sleeper, I suggest bringing earplugs as the walls are thin. Luckily our neighbors went to bed shortly after us so the noise wasn't too disruptive.

Poncebos is a great starting point for treks in los Picos.
Poncebos is a great starting point for treks in los Picos. The funicular train up to Bulnes is here as is the path that goes up to Bulnes. You can also start the Cares gorge walk here. This is one of the most beautiful walks in Spain and accessible to all ages.

The roads are packed with cars, so it's nice to wake up and already be near the trails. It is very comfortable with great rooms and beds. Bathrooms are shared, but there are plenty and they are very clean and spacious. Breakfast is provided and the restaurant serves lunches, tapas and dinner as well. There are buses scheduled from Arenas de Cabrales to Poncebos; the bus stop is a 5-10 min walk from the hostel depending on how much luggage you are carrying.KristenSlovenia

My only complaint would be that it was very hot and not well ventilated but it was August! The location is excellent if you are doing the Ruta del Cares trail - it is the closest hotel to the start of the walk, just a short walk away. There is plenty of parking outside if you arrive in the evening, which means your car is right at the end of the trail when you finish. I highly recommend staying here if you're doing the Cares trail.

We hiked to Uriellu and returned tired to the very warm welcome and comfortable quiet place where we could rest and recover. And our car was in a safe place during our trip. And the dinner after the hike was amazing! Especially I recommend homemade cheesecake - it is not like ordinary cheesecakes and is 100 times tastier. The Host is very friendly and attentive.

What made it so amazing was the owner and the rest of the staff. Some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have encountered whilst travelling. Just genuine great people that went out of there way to make us feel welcomed. We ate dinner there on our return from the hike and the food was also delicious.

Property is dated but just fine. Owner was very friendly and breakfast was good (freshly baked croissants with pressed orange juice). Free parking on road in front of hotel. For anyone with mobility issues, there are no rooms available at ground level, up a flight of stairs to reception and then up again to rooms.
