The bed was very comfortable. I loved the tiles in the bathroom, it is modern and new. Breakfast was great and they catered for gluten free, the cook chatted to me using Google Translator about my needs and made me a gf breakfast.

Top level service.
The owners are great people, very nice and helpful (e.g., the owner helped us to book the next accommodation).
Tasty dinner and breakfast.

Really nice place to stay on the Camino when you want a bit more privacy than a dorm. Nice double room. Shared bathroom, but having a sink, with hot water, in the room was great. Great location and worth paying the extra.

Missing hot water and lack of support from the site.
Missing hot water and lack of support from the site. Recieved our money with one week delay. At the begining the host did not wanted to bring back the money but thanks to the booking.com team we resolved the problem. Would like to forget bad memories. Never go to this place!

The cathedral is fascinating.
The cathedral is fascinating. We visited three times, on each occasion finding something new. I doubt there are many churches in the world that contain a chicken house - the two living birds are there to recall a local miracle in which a hanged youth and two roast chickens were brought back to life.

Conservative boring town. Very religious.
Conservative boring town. Very religious. There was a lovely bar around the corner from the hotel that a lot of locals frequented, which was lovely and had a good atmosphere, one of the few places we felt comfortable. Felt Franco's presence was alive and well in this town.

You have to definitely see the chicken in the cathedral!
You have to definitely see the chicken in the cathedral! It is really impressive, with all the chapels, and its worth seeing.
Friendly locals, beautiful architecture.
Vegans can survive there. They have supermarket called "Eroski", which takes some searching, but you can still find the couscous, fruits and veggies.

The couple who own the hotel are so welcoming and kind. They are just gorgeous. We felt so welcomed in to the place. They took the time to orientate us in the town. We really liked the cafe/bar below for dinner and the staff there were so nice to us. We don't speak a lot of Spanish but they were so patient and kind to us and we managed to get across our ordee
Stayed here as a treat when doing the camino. Great experience for our first Parador. Beautiful building, lovely room with a nice view from window. Friendly check in. There is no restaurant at the hotel but it is a short walk to bars, restaurants and main square. We loved it. Looking forward to another Parador stay.
Location was good - just in the fringe of the center - close but more quiet. Our room was not one of the best in the hotel but comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. No food - except breakfast at the hotel but many cafes and restaurants within a block so no problem.
The nicest place we stayed in on the Camino so far. The wife and husband owners treated us like family. It was super clean and very convenient to the Cathedral. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. You should make this your highest ranking for Santo Domingo De La Calzada.
Great place to stay - This is more like a hotel, than a hostel. Great bathrooms in hotel room. Plenty of charging points. Staff friendly. My favourite was the dual balconies - Great for taking photos! Hotel lobby also has a toilet as well in case you need to use it.
very close to the cathedral. the young lady running the place was super helpful. she checked me in before regular time because my room was ready and later walked with me to find the only grocery store open on Sunday afternoon.
We paid extra to stay at this hotel because it had air conditioning. They only had a/c in he lobby and hallways. They didn’t turn it on for the rooms. (Toke this meant the staff were comfortable but the guests could sweat.)
Excellent location, spotlessly clean, kind and helpful staff, and very comfortable bed. The best night’s sleep on the Camino so far and definitely worth the “splurge” over staying in an albergue.
It's a fantastic place for the Camino. For what you pay, you get much more than you expect. It's a big place, compared to a hotel room. It's fantastic for the Camino.
