The staff was amazing, the room very comfortable, and the best part was the balcony where we sat in the sun with views of the Sierra Nevada dusted with snow. Marvelous!

The house is very charming and easy to find in a good location in barrio alto. The hot water and shower were great. The host was very accommodating. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Nice village but we preferred Capeleira, Pampaniera and Bubion where were not so far away from Granada and the coast.
On the plus side, there were very few tourists in Trevelez whereas the other villages of Las Alpujarras had more tourists.

Not the prettiest village in La Alpujarra but it definitely has its charm! Especially the higher up the village you go. It's definitely worth a visit and a good walk around the whole village. It has a few good places to eat at very reasonable prices.

The winter season meant it was quiet which was lovely, there were hardly any tourists in early January. Some of the restaurants were not open as a result but there was plenty of choice still. There is one place (La Fragua restaurant) which serves vegetarian options as standard, although the restaurant Piedra Ventana would sort something out. Great location for walking in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Trevélez is a picturesque town high in the Sierra Nevada.
Trevélez is a picturesque town high in the Sierra Nevada. The mountains are dry, so the air is right for drying ham. There's ham everywhere in this town. Several trails pass through the town, so check out the hiker's guides to set yourself up for good walks. We enjoyed walking up the river for a few hours and made the best photos of our two weeks in Spain.
Driving up to Trevélez is a bit tiring. The road is curvy and we averaged about 25kph. There's a bus that goes to town and other friends took it and said it was an enjoyable way to travel. If you take a car, park in the lots and carry your bag to the hotel. Don't try to negotiate the narrow, old vias. They get narrow at the wrong time. The hotel told us to park in the lot. I should have listened.
We had some medical issues and there's a clinic and a pharmacy. The pharmacist was kind and knowledgeable. We went back to the hospital in Granada for medical care so we can't comment on the urgent care clinic, but our hotel staff knew all the hours and staffing of the clinic, so it seems that they are consistent and quality.

Trevelez is relatively small and therefore, after the long drive, it is easy to get around on foot as most restaurants and shops etc are situated around the main road. For Nature lovers it is perfect and yet still unspoilt and certainly at this time of year, May, it is quiet and peaceful.
Fermina, Sonia y Mina are wonderful hostesses! I felt very welcome and well looked after by them. Their food is yummy. They even lent me a backpack to do a day hike more comfortably. The hostel is brand new and they keep it beautiful and clean. Nice and quiet at night, conveniently central for taking the bus to and from Granada. I miss Trevélez and la Alpujarra very much, it’s a very special place.
The room was very spacious with good storage. The balcony and patio were spacious with lovely views. The breakfast was excellent with 8 different varieties of fresh fruit. The restaurant was very good.
The staff were really helpful. They arranged for someone to deliver an iPad charging cable when I had left mine at a previous hotel and also organised a taxi when we missed the bus.
Amazing location, and amazing price for 3 nights. Was exactly everything we needed. Went completely off season to do some hiking and mountaineering up Mulhacen. The hotel itself was just want we needed, somewhere to stay as we were out all day.
Would love to go back in Summer peak times, to see the village come to life. Beautiful scenery!
Loved this place. Really cosy local house. Not as plush as many places we stayed in but it was a lot more fun and attractive. The temperature was lovely. Shower was cold but we didn't mind that. It's also at the very top of the hill so you need to not mind walking. Loved trevelez as well and the climb to mulhacen
Very close to the GR7 hiking trail; cosy and interesting decor; Maria Jose and Philippe was nice and helpful despite me not speaking Spanish; good heater in the bedroom which is VERY important during winter months; a bit of distance from the lower part of the Trevelez but there is a supermarket nearby
The Host was simply wonderful, one of the best in my long travelling experience.
House is very modern and provided with loads of facilities
Pet Friendly
Getting the house keys was super easy
The house is in the best part of Trevelez, the top part. Close the routes that lead you to the mountains
It's an amazingly beautiful house with so many lovely details. It's also well equiped, with everything you can need. We loved also the area - Trevélez is so beautiful, located down the hills of Sierra Nevada. La Maestra is located in the most lovely part of this small town. We'd love to come back!
Fantastic location if you want to hike. Trails start right outside of the house. Trevelez is friendly, beautiful and clean. Quiet place in Feb/March so it's a perfect break from a busy life. Nature around is breathtaking. Our host was always available, flexible and helpful - thank you Maria!
Cozy place and very nice management. Simple but very cozy apartments. Big balcony with great views over Trevelez. Located in the upper part of the town, which makes it a great base for hikes into the Sierra Nevada, Mulhacén etc. I would happily come back! :)
We had a fantastic stay, the hotel was wonderfully clean and extremely comfortable. The mattresses were memory foam and the town is blissfully quiet at night, which makes for a very restful sleep. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it! :)
Great accomodation in a fantastic location for hiking in Sierra Nevada. The room was nice and clean, the staff was very friendly. I recommend this hotel and I will definitely come there again someday.
