We had a room with sea view. It was beautiful. The staff is so very friendly and helpfull. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was delicious. The choice of food is amazing. The breakfast room is so large that there is always enough space for the guests. The rooms are cleaned very well every day. In the bar you can get some nice cocktails with a beautiful seaside view. I think this hotel deserves more than 3 stars.

La ubicación, la limpieza, la habitación reformada
Wonderful city and extraordinary people. The Roman ruins and the castle are wonderfully preserved. The archaeological museum is worth visiting. A walking tour around the city, and popping in and out of the different shops, and bars (with tapa included) provides quite an experience.

Mid sized town / long sea front promenade, mostly flat but some hilly stretches. Few shops along prom but all essentials. Several snackbars, cafes & restaurants along the front but we were happy to eat in the hotel; Big beach and sea mostly calm

Lots of restaurants open even in February. Beach restaurants also open. Food shops fabulous for self caterers, meat, fish, fruit, bread and cakes all good. Even a wonderful dressmakers shop that replaced a faulty zip at minimal cost.

Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .
Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .The town has centuries of history, but a lot was ruined by wars and earthquakes. It shifted to budget tourism from sugarcane and fishing in the 1960s. Now it's going upmarket. It's surrounded by orchards and hills, and has some lovely areas of charming villas. Culturally, it's a bit special. Even though it's a small town, It has an arts centre with a decent theatre. There are concerts two or 3 times a week, even in winter, and jazz, flamenco and theatre festivals in the summer. Good restaurants, nice beaches. Public transport isn't great unless it's midsummer, so if you don't have a car, I suggest that you stay somewhere near the centre.

It’s much bigger than we expected.
It’s much bigger than we expected. We visited it directly after the new year and experienced it to be empty. However it was full of life. Restaurants and bars were all open. The weather was perfect. The beaches were empty what made everything even better. Totally a pleasant surprise!
I would highly recommend this apartment. After cycling around Spain we were looking forward to a couple of days out the saddle and this apartment was the perfect relaxation. Perfect location, great views of the ocean from the balcony. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need from cooking facilities to catching up on the washing. The bus station is a 20 minutes easy walk where you can catch a bus to Granada and other destinations. There are restaurants and bars nearby or you can walk into the town.
The reception was excellent - Alithia and Laura were just perfect at everything. Smooth and friendly and very helpful.
And what an amazing surprise when getting into the room - a nice and cold welcome was waiting on the table :) Muchos gracias!
The pool area was nice and cozy and dinner entertainment was also nice - a little dance and drinks at the lobby of the hotel :) The location is superb and parking of the car also very convenient (7 EUR per 24 hours).
Highly recommend!
Over the two weeks in Spain we stayed at about 10 different hotels. This one was definitely the best of them, maybe one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. Great location, amazing interior of the entire hotel, looked nice, smelled nice, the infinity pool and the bar on the roof was absolutely amazing. Breakfasts and dinners also amazing. Plus, the hotel wasn't overcrowded, the staff was very friendly. We wished we could have stayed more than two nights.
I Loved that a bottle of cava and chocolates with a note from the Hotel in our room because it was our wedding anniversary, l loved the staff interaction with the hotel customers, the staff were so friendly and helpful, l was impressed with the attention to spills and the topping up of dishes on the buffet, also of the prompt removal of used dishes from tables at meal times. Definitely one of my best hotel stays. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
As soon as we entered the hotel, I had a good feeling about the place. It felt like a long established hotel which was well maintained with pride by the staff. We stayed half board and the food and dining area was pleasant. There was a large bar area and lovely looking pool area. We stayed in February and got a very good price for our room. I loved the location by the sea too. I would definitely return if in the area.
Lovely room and public areas, bar and outside areas and rooftop were well designed and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The decor is especially attractive and unique! Breakfast was outstanding. The location right by the sea and small beach is breathtaking when the big waves are crashing. Convenient to the sidewalk to connect to Almuñécar by foot. View from the rooms, bar and rooftop are spectacular.
Location is great, Hotel is straight across from the beach. Poolside staff were very friendly and helpful. My parents stayed in another room and their apartment was much more up to date, so it is the luck of the draw. The apartments are obviously privately owned and as I said if you are lucky to get a good one, then your stay will be better. A nice town, with great locals and would go back to Almunecar.
Great staff, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nice, clean (deep clean actually) and large room. Comfortable beds. The balcony and the view. Car park options, the paying car park is below the hotel, but free parking is available in nearby streets. The beach is closed from the hotel, old town traditional restaurants are near.
The entrance of the hotel was very comfy and smart. The breakfast room was so clean and tidy which we loved. We were also impressed by the bathroom which was so elegant and spacious. The staff also was very kind and attended each of our requests.
What a great Hotel, the decor is lovely, the hotel itself is within walking distance of everything, across the road from the beach and viewing point. The staff were so kind, friendly and helpful, sorry we didn't stay longer.
Excellent value for money, free nearby parking behind the locked gate, very central with everything near, the view of the beach (2 minutes on foot), easy to find, great communication with the host.
There are only 2 dog-friendly hotels in the city centre of Almunecar. Chinasol is the better one :) ... location is very good! Liked also our little balcony and the complimentary vine bottle!
Delicious Breakfast buffet with eggs, a variety of hams, cheese, mermelades, fruits, excellent coffee and much more. A very comfortable and affordable hotel near everything in Alnuñecar.
Great hotel superb all round, unbelievable value for money. Breakfast was ample plenty of choice. I will definitely be back. All of the staff I encountered were Uber helpful and polite.
We had a big apartment, the kitchen needs to be updated, looking quite sad, but otherwise the facilities were great. Best part of the hotel is the pool area.
