It is a beautiful city with lots of historic places to visit. Amazing restaurants to try typical dishes and mainly the cheese! It seems difficult to access sometimes (mainly the old historic area), but taxis reach practically everywhere. Sadly, my trip was a business one and only for a weekend, but the city deserves more days to fully enjoy it!

Beautiful old city, lovely to just wander around. Slightly off the beaten track with not too many foreign tourists there, particularly in February. Speaking a little Spanish is useful. Would definitely recommend.

Carceres is a beautifully preserved old city.
Carceres is a beautifully preserved old city. The museum is very well set out starting with paleotonic times and there is no charge to go in. I also loved the Arab museum - only a relatively small building but with some many distinct rooms and full of the everyday things that were used. A real house, not just a made to look like one. Beautiful hotel. Beautifully clean, lovely helpful staff Great food. Will be re booking to go back. Room was excellent had plenty room for two small dogs, they left out dog beds and bowls Comfy big bed, lovely shower room. Nice surroundings. Also Spa facilities Highly recommended

Caceres is a must-visit jewel in Spain's repertoire of fabulous historic places to visit. So many places to see but all in walking distance of the parador - Plaza de la Concepcion, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Santa Maria and the cathedral, Torre do los Pozos, the water cisterns and the Torre de Bujaco. All are wonderful sights to visit. Very easy to walk around and the Plaza Mayor has many restaurants and bars from which to choose where to eat.

We stayed in a 2BR apartment which was across plaza (30m) from hotel lobby - they had a luggage cart available to assist. Apartment was very new, clean and well equipped. Nice comfy LR furniture and big TV. Well equiped kitchen with new pans. A short walk to center of old town (like 7-8 minutes but uphill). One member stayed with me as the paramedics arrived. Everyone was kind to me, and helped me navigate doctors/ hospitals etc. One member drove us in the Hotel vehicle to the hospital, and spoke to the Doctor on our behalf. We found the service outstanding (and sadly we know this is unlikely to be the same in England). Please pass this message on , and send our grateful thanks.

Beautifully thought out decor with gorgeous views from the window. Rosa & Santiago made us extremely welcome, nothing too much trouble. Everything was comfortable and easy. We had breakfast in their stunning little courtyard. Fresh bread with various spreads, coffee and juice. Perfect start to the day. I would not hesitate to return to this gem. The place is great for quick travelers. It has a Moroccan ambiance. our room was comfortable, the bed was awesome and super clean, we had a balcony. The main lobby during the day is a tea room. The staff was super friendly. It is not like a regular hotel. You will get a key to enter the premise after the place closes at night
