Cueva El Retamal is an authentic cave house in a tiny village, with a bakery, tiny shop and a restaurant. It is nicely decorated and comfortable. The terrace is lovely for sitting outside and the surroundings are beautiful and quiet.

This house is one of those rare cases when the reality is much better than the photos. Beautiful house with tons of sleeping space. It's located in a village but we hardly ever saw anyone or heard any cars, so it's a perfect spot to get away from it all. Very clean and orderly. We visited in winter so we were very happy about the hot water in the shower, which never ran out.

+ the location is stunning, on a dead end road on a plateau across the main village - so it's superquiet + right in the mountains - really peaceful + the view from the terrace (and also through the windows) is simply INCREDIBLE! + the owner is superfriendly and helpful + communication is easy + the appartement has 2 floors + 1st floor has a well equiped kitchen with everything you need + table, chairs, couch, TV and good WiFi + hot shower with good water pressure + 2nd floor with big room with 2 beds + terrace with sunbeds, chairs, table and an incredible view + plenty of free parking right next to the house + enough plugs to charge your stuff + the appartement is clean and comfortable + supermarket and bus stop in the center, about 5min away

We liked this apartment - very spacious and quiet with high ceilings, traditional Spanish architecture and furnishings rather than corporate bland modern, nice big kitchen and new appliances, large comfortable master bedroom etc. Second bedroom really handy for stashing all our gear. It was deliciously cool even without the aircon every day when we came in from hiking, and we had 25-26 degree days. A couple things needed attention but management came the next morning to fix them. We actually liked being 15 min walk away from the busy-ness of Tejeda - also easy secure off road parking right beside the apartment. We left our hiking poles for future guests (can’t take them in carry-on baggage!)

Talo oli erittäin puhdas, upeasti sisustettu ja siellä oli kaikki majoittumiseen tarvittavat tavarat. Olimme kuin kotonamme. Isäntä on ystävällinen ja mukava. Maisemat kattoterassilta vuorille ovat täydelliset ja siellä voi ottaa aurinkoa koko päivän yksityisesti. Autolle oli lähellä iso ilmainen pysäköintialue, jossa oli aina tilaa. Naapurusto on hiljainen, ja täällä voit levätä ja nauttia luonnosta, tilasta ja rauhasta. Lyhyt ajomatka vuoriston nähtävyyksiin, kuten Roque Nublo ja Cruz de Tejeda. Voit myös retkeillä poluilla helposti. Tejedan kylässä on mahtavia kahviloita, joista saa manteliherkkuja edullisesti. Tämä oli meille erityinen elämys ja kokemus. Suosittelen, tämä on saaren paras majoitus! Tulisin itse uudestaan tänne milloin vaan, ja pidemmäksi aikaa.
