I got the cottage as a present for my mother's birthday and the hosts were so incredibly generous as to decorate the whole place with balloons and flowers, get a birthday cake and a bottle of wine! That are the most caring people I could ever imagine... Melted my heart! And my mum loved her stay and the incredible peacefulness of the place.

The property was immaculate and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for us to use a base for a week to access the amazing hiking on the island. There is also parking just down the hill a bit from the property. It was great to have a smart TV and be able to watch Netflix some evenings! Also, I left my wash bag in the property and realised when we arrived on Tenerife but I contacted the host and they arranged to have the bag delivered to me at the port which was really good of them.

Everything was perfect! The house is located in a beautiful scenery, in a calm environment. House was clean, owner was more than helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out. Well furnished, bed comfortable. Easy check-in. We had a really great time, definitely will stay here when we return to the island!

Casa Sol is a beautifully renovated traditional stone house overlooking the sea, Hermigua valley and Mount Teide on Tenerife. The view is as good as it gets (the 4 photos attached were all taken from the terrace). We we impressed with the quality of the house, and how well it was kitted out. The welcome bottle of wine and snacks were also a nice touch. Liked the hifi and the owners’ (Stefan and Silke) CD collection, and the herb garden was great for cooking. We came to La Gomera for the walking so had no issues with the steps down to the house (over 100). Given the dramatic landscape, this is pretty normal for a lot of houses in La Gomera, but it wouldn’t be ideal for anyone with mobility issues. We also recommend the local car hire company the owners recommended (called Mulagua). We enjoyed meeting the owner Alberto who is a hoot and local to Hermigua. He gave us a much more personal and efficient experience than the big corporate places do. It also means that you are spending your hire car money on the island instead of in Tenerife. It’s simple and cheap to catch a taxi from Tenerife South airport to Los Cristianos ferry terminal so you don’t have to worry about driving until you get to La Gomera.

The property itself was very homely, and had all the equipment needed for a self-catering stay (although I ate out each day). The bathroom was very clean and modern.
