Cuevas de la Paz (Caves of Peace) are a unique collection of caves situated in Los Carriones, a quaint village in the Granada region of Andalucia. Our guests are very important to us, so we work hard to ensure their time at Cuevas de la Paz is as good an experience as they can have. The caves are traditionally Spanish with mod cons, full of character and surprising features. This is your perfect holiday in the centre of the Altiplano. We are not only surrounded by mountains but also olive and almond trees. At Caves of Peace doing as little or as much as you would like is the order of the day. You can do anything from relaxing in a hammock, to paragliding off the top of Mount Jabelcon.
We were travelling through Spain when we came across these caves. We simply fell in love with them and the area. Having never spent any time in a cave we decided to live in one for a while. We discovered the coolness in the summer, the warmth in the winter, the peaceful night sleep you have and the uniqueness of caves is second to none. We would love to share our experiences with you and are always happy to pass on ideas and any information you may require. If you have not yet stayed in a cave be warned... you could quickly fall in love with them as we did.
The caves are a couple of minutes walk from the well known bar and restaurant "Emilio's". Here, Emilio and his family will serve your drinks with free tapas. The nearest big town is Baza, a twenty five minute drive away with many shops, bars and restaurants. The area is ideal for most activities. There are many lakes to swim in within a short drive away (the area is known as the mini lake district) and if you would prefer to take a walk there are many trails to explore. For the more adventurous, there are endless tracks for mountain biking and off road motorcyclists. We do have a folder in each cave giving you ideas of what to do and see - you will be spoilt for choice.
