There are 5 bedrooms spread across 3 floors, a lounge, kitchen with access to a large furnished roof terrace with barbecue, ample gardens, including a fly-free area, with barbecue and seating 8+. There is plenty of space and comfortable corners to lose yourself, ensuring tranquility and a relaxing break. The kitchen is equipped with hob, oven, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, pots and pans etc. There is a large dining table seating 8. There is a lounge area with TV, DVD player, sofa, fireplace and a large selection of DVD´s, books and board games. Vélez Rubio is 15km from the property. The larger city of Lorca is 45km away. Free private parking is available on site. Bikes are available for guest use, free of charge. There is free wifi throughout the house.

We will enjoy sharing the peace and tranquility of the area with you, along with the natural beauty and stunning wildlife, such as Griffon Vultures, Golden Eagles, Geckos... There are many fantastic walks right on the doorstep, we will be incredibly happy to share this information with you, along with restaurant recommendations and places of interest, such as the Cuevas de los Letreros - where you can see the ancient cave paintings of the infamous Indalo Man, the local markets - for both fresh produce and antiquities. We both have a love of Spain, having lived here for many years and regularly enjoy travelling to other cities and regions...with Granada just 2 hours away by car we are spoilt for choice. Chris loves diving, motorcycling - on and off-road and can inform you of the best places to go should you choose. Laura has a love for anything creative and highly recommends the wonderful art gallery, Museo Ibanez, at Olula del Rio. She also attends a ceramics class regularly at Aguilas.

As previously mentioned, the Cuevas de los Letreros is just a few minutes away by car, as is Velez Blanco castle with its stunning views. The village of Velez Blanco is also home to a selection of bars and restaurants, a small theatre, a fascinating old washroom for laundry. It is a wonderful village to wander through, stopping for tapas and drinks along the way. We can recommend El Rinconcillo bar restaurant in Velez Blanco, Bar Sociedad, Lola's bar and Gines y Maria for wonderful cake and coffee. Meson Antonia restaurant has prime position located next to the castle, Antonia serves wonderful home cooked meals - her cerdo con salsa de pimienta is definitely our recommendation! The stunning beaches of Aguilas and Mojacar are approximately one hour away, as is Vera Naturist beach and nearby water park. The nearest golf course is 50 minutes away by car. You will find the astonishing Geode de Pulpi also within an hour away, this really is worth a visit, being the biggest geode in Europe. The nearest airport is Corvera, Murcia, just 1h 20mins away from the cortijo. Alicante airport is a little further afield, around 2 hours away, the same as Almeria and Granada.
