Very laid back, rural, accommodating and friendly.
Cangas de Onis, is an interesting town. We spent some time people watching at the Roman Bridge, strolling along the river bank and enjoying coffee and beer at some of the cafes and bars. Good choice of restaurants for day time and evening meals, catering for most tastes.
A good base for exploring the Picos de Europa and the wider area.

My review of Cangas de Onis might be slightly based on my endless love for Asturias but apart from that, it's a lovely town to visit, get to know local food, craft beers, cider, treats and see surrounding mountain landscapes. There are several shops to get local products, typical for the region. There are even places with vegetarian food options that are usually difficult to find in rural Spain. For me Cangas de Onis was an intermediate stop on the way to Poncebos to do the Cares Gorge trail. Places that offer vegetarian food: Felix Cafeteria Bar, Casa Luisa, Cafe Picos

Cangas de Onis is a great place to stay if you plan to tour the lakes of Covadonga. There is a tourist bus that operates much like a hop-on-hop-off bus that takes you directly to the lakes and also to the town of Covadonga.

Lively town with lots of bar & restaurant choices - El Molina de la Pedrera was our favourite. NIce walks along the river and good access to the Picos via bus - bus station is close to centre. Very helpful tourist office.

Very busy with a LOT of tourists but it is August.
Very busy with a LOT of tourists but it is August. Town itself very disappointing. Nice walks along the river and beyond. I’d recommend the blue trail for experienced walkers. Really nothing much in the town. Lots of fair to middling bars and restaurants.
It was the right choice to stay in this hotel for one night. It was a long journey to Cangas de Onis from Madrid and I rested well. Also the staff was super friendly, I didn't order a breakfast in advance but they allowed me to see the choices in the morning for vegetarian options and let me decide at the moment. Vegetarian-friendly selection was quite good and it's way better than you'd find in cafes in the town.
Lovely, calm building in a perfect location for the puente Romano and centre of cangas de onis. Staff were kind and friendly and we were able to park in their garage for a small daily fee. Their coffee was good, beds comfy, rooms spotless. Brilliant stay perfect for days spent trekking in the picos de europa and evenings taking in the traditional asturian town with some cider and tapas
Had such a nice stay in Pension Reconquista. The room is clean and comfortable. In addition, it has a balcony with a beautiful view of the town. It's centrally located so everything is easily accessible including the bus station. The only regret we had was not staying more! Definitely staying here when we visit Cangas de Onís again!
lovely hotel overall, nice staff, complimentary umbrellas, nice location short walk to city centre and restaurants, nice atmosphere, good covid rules, room was clean, use of plastic covers, breakfast was organised and tables spaced apart, people wore hygenic gloves handling the food. Made for a stress free stay in current climate.
Beautiful apartment, clean and brand new. Very comfortable for 3 people and a great location in Cangas de Onis. Beds were comfortable and the balcony was beautiful! The owner was lovely and she arrived to bring us the key and explain how everything works. Parking is available in the garage
Excellent and ample house in a very quiet area, astonishing views, very quiet and close to Cangas de Onis. House has all you need, 3 big bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, amazing living room with fireplace and complete kitchen. All in pristine condition. A place to repeat for more days.
The appartment was lovely with a marvellous view. Everything was there you would need except a kettle. we didnt see the owners except to collect the key. Very peaceful. We would happily go again.Very close to the glacial lakes and Cangas de Onis. Lots to do.
We loved every minute of our stay! We were treated with the utmost kindness and care, the owner is the most lovely person we've ever met in a hotel, after so many years of traveling.
The warmest smile you'll ever see!
The landscape was also breathtaking!
Incredibly friendly owners. They really care about you and make sure you have a great time in Cangas de Onís and the area. The location is great, too and with the tasty breakfast included its great value for money!
Perfection. Absolutely loved our stay here-the views are incredible. Beautiful design, modern and comfortable. Close to Cangas de Onis and the lagos de Covadonga. We will be back-thank you Paco!
The staff were excellent at the hotel, they took care of all my needs. Breakfast was included, and offered a great selection. My room was clean and quaint, perfect for my stay.
