The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna.
We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna. I'm in a wheelchair, so changing hotels constantly is a chore for my partner. We visited Lugo itself on our last day and were pleasantly surprised by its charm, impressive walls and other medieval corners.
We lucked out finding this delightful fresh modern 6th floor, 2 BR 2 bath apartment with its great view of the Roman wall and within easy walking distance to Lugo's historic center, stores and restaurants. The underground parking was a huge plus. We appreciated the host's warmth and flexbity and the roomy and well thought out design, furnishing and upscale appliances and materials, as well as the many amenities-keurig type coffee, soft drinks, soy milk, cooking staples. We look forward to returning some day!
Excellent restaured farm house, inserted in a large garden in the surroundings of Lugo. Lola is an excellent host that goes the extra mile to make you feel confortable and at home, with nice small gestures of kindness and some pretty goods tips on where and what to do.
The house is completely modernized with all the appliances that are needed and an amazing taste. It is located in the sorroundings of Lugo, but a short 10 min aways from the city center.
Can definitively recommend!
We absolutely loved this place!! Complete peace and quiet in the Galician countryside. Everything about it was perfect and our host Isa was so lovely and was a joy to be with. The house itself has been beautifully renovated and is immaculate in every detail.
The breakfast each day was fabulous.
The amazing town of Lugo is 10km away and is a must visit if you appreciate history and culture. There are plenty of good restaurants and tapas bars to visit.
I arrived very late because the train I had booked for 18 Octoberbfrom Madrid to Ourense broke down, resulting me reaching the hotel between 1-2am in the early hours of the morning 19 Oct 2023.
The night Reception was excellent.
The break fast is served till 10:30am. Was good variety, fresh, espresso good. Staff kind and professional.
Located a short walk from historical UNESCO intack Roman Wall and other wonderful historical sights, churches etc.
I liked that it was outside of the city walls so it was away from the busy sections of Lugo (but close enough to walk to the city center). The hostel seems like it was just remodeled so everything is new and clean. There are spacious shared bathrooms. The hosts were so nice upon our arrival and they took fantastic care of us ahead of our long journey on El Camino.
A very spacious apartment attached to hotel who hold the keys and where breakfast is served.
All facilities on hand that would make this apartment a comfortable vacation or city break.
Parking under hotel limited so prebook if possible.
Probably 15min walk to main area of tourist attractions.
Some nice restaurants up the hill away from city centre.
There is a restaurant very close by, run by the same family, which was excellent. The food and service was far better than restaurants in larger places. Our room and bed was clean and very comfortable. Our host was a very busy man as he is the ‘major domo’ of the mini supermarket and hotel as well as being a very good host.
Fantastic. Really outstanding staff. Very friendly and very accommodating. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Lugo beside the Roman walls. Bars and restaurants are within one or two minutes walk. The hotel and the rooms are super clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
My partner had to stay at the hospital for a few days in Lugo. I didn’t want to stay in town. The hotel staff were very helpful my entire stay. They did their very best to take care of me and make me feel comfortable and safe. Alicia, the receptionist, was absolutely wonderful.
Definitely a no-frills hotel that deserves more stars, because of services, friendly staff and a delicious daily menu at its restaurant; free and huge car parking; located north of Lugo, 35min walking from walls, as well provided with bus in the nearby; nice rooms and helpful staff
Great location and lovely modern hotel with plenty of free parking. Dogs were welcome which was good, although not in the public areas, which is understandable. Easy access to the old town. Continental breakfast was a buffet style and very good, with plenty of choices.
Our room looked out directly on the Roman wall, which was amazing. The hotel, bar, and patio were also very interesting with vintage, clever decorations. The parking was just a few feet away.
The hotel was conveniently located within an easy walk of the Roman wall and cathedral and old town. The breakfast was quite good with many options, including plant based milks.
A very basic apartment which was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is located about 1km south of the old section of Lugo but there are many shops close by.
