It is important to understand that Ruidera is a very small town so in the off-season the main attraction is the lakes and there are limited choices for dining etc. The lakes are beautiful and worth a visit any time of year if you enjoy walking in nature. Having a car certainly made our stay much simpler and I would recommend visiting as part of a road trip.

Ruidera is a water paradise, you can enjoy the lakes doing SUP, kayaking, swimming, etc. There are several restaurants near the lakes "Asadores", i bit expensive comparing with the ones at the city. The food quality is great but very salty for my taste. But you also can make a picnic, there are planty of spaces under the tress. You find smaller good restaurants at the city of Ruidera. I haven't seen any public transport around the lakes, so would be nice if you get a bicycle/car to get around. On saturday there is a market selling lots of goods, food, fruits, clothing and a Big truck raosting chicken to take away.

We felt like we had entered a little palace. It was so nice that we decided to ask if we could add an extra night but unfortunately all the rooms were booked up. After having spent the last 5 night camping the beds and all the facilities were comfortable and a welcome releif. The manager was plesant and helpfull. Our room felt more like a little house with a private entrance and sunny terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers, all with a lovely view of the lake. The breakfast is really great.
