The owner maintained communication from the very beginning. Was very considerate. Even prepared a welcome gift basket and a delicious salad for us.
Will return when in the region again 🙌🏻
Torres del Rio is a nice little village. There's a lovely church there and you can sit outside and look out over the countryside. There's a shop that opens very early for anyone walking the camino, and they sell coffee, fruit and pastries.
Although it's advertised as a "Hostal", it's really two facilities in one: a proper hotel, with modern, comfortable, ensuite rooms,, and an albergue, where many pilgrims stay on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The staff were all warm and welcoming, and clearly enjoyed their jobs. O had a 3-course evening meal for €15...including a very decent local bottle of red!
The hotel manager Yuri is very professional. He is such a hard worker and provides quality customer service. He is also very kind and considerate towards his customers. During my journey to Santiago de Compostela, Hotel Rural La Pata de Oca left me precious memories that I will cherish. I will pray for his during my pilgrimage.
The pool in the hotel and the pilgrim meal in the hotel restaurant were very nice. Friendly man in the shop gave me a free sachet of washing powder. I liked being able to use the washing machine myself.
we have stayed at this modern hotel several times and always pleased. clean and well equipped rooms. good location on the Camino. very friendly staff….even got to use the pool this time.
After a long hot day, to have access to the sister hotel's pool was extremely welcome. A really good meal in a comfortable dining room. Very clean and really helpful staff.
You can pay for using pool in a hotel close to the alberge. Pool is so good. Perfect for relaxing after long day of walking. Dinner for pilgrims in that hotel is delicious.
Location slightly away from town festival going on all night. Charming town and hotel seems to be very old like medieval times. Nice dinner in chamber in basement.
