Was surprised to find such a nice hotel in that small village, Few rooms but mine was nicely set, well renovated with a huge bathroom, clean and confortable, quiet even with windows on the road. The great plus is that you are above the 1 star Michelin restaurant so you are sure to spend a great evening. Also near to Chambord, so great location for the Loire valley chateaux. Great value considering the reasonable price of the room.
Set in Suèvres, in a historic building, 12 km from Chateau de Talcy, La Bergerie is a bed and breakfast with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and open-air bath.

The hosts were very kind and pleasant. The location was excellent for Chambord, and was a peaceful, tranquil semi-rural location. The dinner was tasty and hearty and very satisfying in an impressive dining area, shared with other guests. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The rooms were clean and fresh.

Visiting the castle is an opportunity to learn more about François 1er. He is much more intelligent and visionary than he is portrayed in some TV shows and movies. If you want to know more about Francois 1er, you should complete the trip by visiting Fontainebleau.

Although I had been to Chambord numerous times, I was intrigued by the new presentation by Jacques Garcia. It brings the chateau to life. Before the entry was very austere. The Francois I apartment is more interesting, with a bed more in keeping with the time. There are a lot of interesting touches which reflect the lifestyle at the time such as the bed used for travel (from the period) and also the camp bed in the bedroom which would have been used by a manservant. My friends were impressed by the new kitchen section (kitchens don't interest me!).
A little taste of what it might have felt like to be a part of the French aristocracy. We felt like house guests of the charming Gael and Cecil. Don’t miss Gael’s tour, it truly places the chateau and its environs in historical and modern perspective. All we needed was a hunting outing to make it complete. Comfortable bed, luxuriant bathroom and products, delicious croissant and homemade honey and jams. Close enough to everything but far enough to feel like a true country escape. An easy launching to Chambord, Blois and Amboise.
The hosts are amazing-friendly, welcoming and rightfully enthusiastic about their special home. It is exceptional in every way. Beautifully maintained, thoughtfully decorated and the grounds were bucolic and steeped in history. Peaceful and yet centrally located to see the sites of the Loire Valley. It was full of wonder in every way. The breakfast in the lovely dining room was delicious as well.
The grounds were spectacular! Our room was huge, bed super comfortable; I felt like a queen!! Breakfast was wonderful - croissants, baguette, variety of jams and jellies, local cheeses, meats, yogurt, granola, OJ, cakes, hot beverage. We were given a complimentary tour of
the chateau and its grounds wherein we learned so much history of the house and history of France. Our hosts were the best.
What an outstanding place, we enjoyed staying at Chateau des Grotteaux Près Chambord. The place is tastefully decorated, with a lot of details. The grounds are well kept with a swimming pool and Eiffel bridge, nice touch! The services were impeccable. The owners are very pleasant and informative. Overall, we will definitely recommend this place!
We were in Chambord to visit the chateau so the location was superb. The bedding was very luxurious and pillow’s excellent. Unfortunately we arrived very late in the evening and only stayed the night so didn’t have time to use other facilities so can’t comment.
The location was superb, in the grounds of the Chateau de Chambord. The view from our window (we had a Junior Suite with Castle View) was stunning. Being able to walk through the grounds and to the castle was so convenient. The room was very comfortable.
This hotel has a superb location with fabulous views from the restaurant to the chateau. Food and room were also very good. Pauline was very helpful getting us into the chateau quickly so we had a chance to visit it in the limited time we had available.
Everyone was very welcoming and the hotel and room were immaculate. We have a great dinner and the cherry on top was that there was an entire setup for our dog in the room with a bed, blanket and bowls. Highly recommended, great attention to detail.
it’s an incredible place! The French government, who set up the whole village and the hotel around the castle, thought of everything. The castle itself is very close and the history is amazing.
Chateau des Grotteaux was such a lovely place! Gael and family were the perfect hosts. The Chateau itself is beautifully restored, with a fascinating history.
