Victoria Hotel, hotel in Burntisland

A short from the train and bus stations in Kirkcaldy, Victoria Hotel has free private parking and a restaurant serving a range of good meals.

I stayed on two separate occasions. On the first I had a small double and on the second I had a family room. Both rooms were excellent. They were freshly decorated, clean and very comfortable. The decor was subtle and relaxing. The bathrooms looked to be very new and they were well-equipped.

The Bay Hotel, hotel in Burntisland

Located in Kinghorn, a 18-minute walk from Pettycur Beach, The Bay Hotel provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel offers a bar.

This is a huge hotel with every room looking out over the Firth of Forth toward Edinburgh. It felt like a seaside resort. There were a lot of families of all ages yet it was quiet and didn’t seem busy. Our deluxe room had a small living room with sofa, desk and chairs, and balcony. Our balcony was tiny with only one chair because we were on the outermost edge but we were happy with the room location because it was quiet. A tea kettle, instant coffee, teas, and biscuits were provided. The bedroom was in a loft up a set of stairs. The loft also had floor to ceiling views but no balcony. The view was amazing. The hotel amenities included a pool, hot tub, sauna, snooker tables, arcade and game room. Warning, the pool’s last entry is 8 pm. We didn’t realize this and came a little late but since we were just using the sauna, the attendant let us in for the final half hour. In addition to these areas, there was also a common area with comfy chairs where you could enjoy the view and there were two terraces. The Horizons restaurant is huge. I’m not sure why we needed a reservation. There’s lots of tables by the windows and there is a huge bar lounge area that served food also. The bar had an excellent selection of Scottish gins and whiskies. The dinner was good—I had the special which was a chicken pie and it was good. Breakfast included a cold service buffet and Scottish breakfast off the menu. The staff throughout the hotel, bar and restaurant all very helpful and friendly.

We booked this hotel for an event in Kirkcaldy.

We booked this hotel for an event in Kirkcaldy. It turned out to be further away than we hoped (15 minutes drive) consequently we had little time to look round Burntisland but it seemed to offer little for a visitor in January. Hotel was a bit out of Burntisland and we took a walk in one morning but unfortunately the railway blocked the view and did not allow for walking along the beach

We stayed 6 nights in Burntisland, by the 3rd day, we felt like it was "our town". Everyone was so friendly. Once we told anyone that this was our first time in Scotland, they seemed eager to answer our questions and suggest little things make our visit more enjoyable. There are no chain restaurants or businesses in Burntisland. That (and the cheerful people) is what makes it such a charming town. The Links Fish and Chips was The BEST

Lovely quiet residential seaside resort .

Lovely quiet residential seaside resort . Not commercial but amazing coastline , walks & views. 30 mins by train across the bridge to Edinburgh. Good stop if wish to travel further north . Limited accommodation available . The Sands best for nice meal and friendly drink in beach location . The high street offered cute traditional friendly cafe .. the olive branch , also more trendy brunch establishment called the Roasting Project was lovely .

Nice coastal town on the Firth of Forth opposite Edinburgh.

Nice coastal town on the Firth of Forth opposite Edinburgh. As we have family in the town we visit regularly. In the summer the "shows" (a huge funfair just back from the coast) operate and are a major visitor attraction. Not many restaurants but a couple of the hotels serve meals to non-residents (but NOT the Burntisland House). Sits on the Fife Coastal Path.

It’s rough and ready, my friend thought it was a homeless shelter. My issue was I can’t manage stairs well and they’d put us in the top floor no lift! Plus staff had been there for less than a week and no parking! The paint was peeling off the walls, our double bed was a small double and creaked with every move and so uncomfortable. The single chair in the three bed room was held together with tape and the skylight window didn’t shut properly. We left after suffering one night.

The staff at Burntisland were wonderful! We had a mix-up at check-in — requested a twin room (even verified via Booking e-mail 2 weeks prior to stay) but were given a double room. Joan (I think was her name) was very kind and gave us a roll-away for the first night and then made sure that we were in a twin room the next night. Joan is a really hard worker and went out of her way to help us with other things. Also the breakfasts were the best of all the places we stayed while in Scotland — really amazing cook!

Much closer to the town centre than I expected and access to Edinburgh was really easy by train. Burntisland is lovely and I would like to have had more time to explore further into Fife. The flat was very clean, TBH, it looks like it’s just been refurbished. Owners were very friendly, however I didn’t have many dealings with them

Beautiful hotel, Manager was excellent and looked like he enjoyed working there! as were the girls who were polite, nice and eager to help, the room was amazing apart from my 2 boys sharing a double bed 18 and 10, the 10 year old wasn't up for that, but a small blip, food was brilliant, definitely stay again, well done.
