This will be my go to hotel now when I travel up to see family. Clean, warm and very comfortable....and the staff were the friendliest I've come across. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

This is a basic hotel but that's what I was expecting so wasn't disappointed.

The corridors and rooms must have floating floors, as everywhere you walk creaks like a haunted house.
Everywhere back from the lobby and reception is tired and dated, with circa 2008 decor and furnishings.
The room TV was a first generation LCD, with a Teletext button on the remote control, which was a nice retro touch.
I found the bed a bit too firm, but that's a personal preference and not a criticism. Everywhere is pretty clean, but towels and linen are only changed once every two or three days if you stay the week. Is that normal? Maybe.
Some of the surcharges are bordering on extortion - £6 for various 'special' items on the breakfast menu, on top of your £24 already paid - by 'special' I mean Eggs Benedict, etc. Room service is an additional 'small fee' (their words, not mine) of £8. So if you have Eggs Benedict in your room, which I obviously didn't, that's gonna be £38 please.
Be aware, the room rate fluctuates, so check your bill at the end, or check your booking through this website, as I didn't notice thought the room rate for the week would be the £130 quoted for the first day. Wednesday I was charged £200 for the same room.
The staff are great and the food is good.
The gym is small and seems to be constantly busy, but you can get in, get a workout done and get out.
The Spa is OK, with the pool being the main attraction. The Steam Room and Sauna are decidedly small - 4 people and it's a little too intimate to be honest.
Parking is good, with good DDA access and parking too.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was great, we stayed here for the Edinburgh marathon and it worked perfectly with trains into Edinburgh very regular and the station only being 10 mins walk away. The room was fairly small but that's the only negative I can think of. The bed takes up most of the space and was very large, the bathroom was larger than average and the room had all amenities including a coffee machine, iron, ironing board, kettle, body wash, shampoo and hand soap. The venue did warn that this venue is a late night venue and my partner and I were expecting it to be noisy / a live band in the bar below or something of the like, but this wasn't the case for us at all, and we stayed over bank holiday weekend. The place was relatively quiet in the evenings and no noise from below. The town of Linlinthgow is lovely and we were so glad to have stumbled upon it by compete accident, we would definitely stay again.

Excellent facilities to make ourselves! Coffee, tea, sugar etc provided though!
The place was amazing. It's a lovely garden to sit out in.
The place was amazing. It's a lovely garden to sit out in. The property was huge and very homely. It had everything you needed. The owners even let us keep our bikes in the utility room so that they were safe. Dorothy and her husband were very accommodating. I would stay there again. The only thing we said might be a good idea, was there were no USB charging points anywhere.

The bed was comfortable, but the room was tiny.
The bed was comfortable, but the room was tiny. Private 'bathroom' was next to the bed with only a folding shower screen for privacy. Room was like a sauna if shower was used
Storage space was extremely limited. Bed base was quite grubby, however, the bedding and towels were very clean. No toiletries provided.
Hotel in general was very tired and needs a little TLC. Staff were friendly and helpful.
OK for one night.

The size of the rooms werent enough .
The size of the rooms werent enough . The toilets were tiny and sharing with the whole floor not enough. The perverted men there were disgusting. The sheets on the bed werent clean.
Check out time was far too early.
As we booked in a hurry as things changed wish id looked into it more
There was no breakfast but the room was lovely, and the staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Polmont is a lovely village, 2 takeaways, a post office and a shop. The bar at the bulawayo also very pleasant. People were friendly.
Very clean and comfortable room. Nice size en-suite and the shower had plenty of power. Basic but nice. The location is also very good as I had a banquet at the Macdonald hotel nearby and was only a 15 min walk and a third of the price.
