We stayed because of the thermal pool, but the water was only lukewarm.
Set in a landscape of great natural beauty, surrounded by the river Umia, this traditional rural hotel boasts lots of charm. Relax in the spacious, light and tastefully decorated rooms.

By far the best place I stayed at on the Camino. The greenery and the property are spectacular. Additionally the buffet breakfast they offer was amazing. Will definitely return to this property.

The staff were friendly and there was plenty of hot water, just what is needed after a long walk in the rain.

Best hospitality on the entire Camino. I injured my foot shortly before arriving here. Yolanda showed me the most care and love. A pilgrim herself, she bandaged my foot herself, she brought me coffee up the next day when I couldn’t get downstairs, she made me an appointment with a physio as well as telling me about her pal who rents bicycles - which ultimately saved my Camino. After my own hiking poles broke 3 days before she donated me a new one - which got me to Santiago. She also does give a wonderful stamp, but only if you do stay at the Albergue. And do because it’s one of the most memorable stays now of the Camino because of the absolute kindness shown.
It's a nice small town, very charming and picturesque.
It's a nice small town, very charming and picturesque. Nice parks to walk around, plenty of restaurants and cafes. It's small so easy to get around by walking. Did not partake of the hot springs but this town definitely famous for them.

Caldas de Reis is a beautiful, walkable village.
Caldas de Reis is a beautiful, walkable village. There is a 30-minute walk to a waterfall that I wanted to take but it was too hot that afternoon. It was too hot to take advantage of the hot pools as well. It would have been nice to stay another day here, take a rest day. The restaurants looked really nice as well.

Caldas de Reis is a regular stop-over on the Camino Portuguese. The main square with palm trees is lovely. There are cafes and you can sit there have coffee and enjoy, I only made a one night stop so can't really say much more.

We only stayed in Caldas de Reis as we were walking the Camino Portugese. We saw lots of things that'd been nice to further explore if we'd had a couple of days there....river, historic buildings etc.
The host Victoria was excellent in providing information before we arrived and greeted us with kindness.
Aires do Umia is very centrally located in Caldas de Reis, which is a lovely community.
The room was very comfortable and peaceful and had a great shower and huge towels. The bed was very comfortable and the room had good ventilation.
We had access to a nice kitchen area and sitting area. Victoria provided coffee and a light breakfast and we were able to store a few things in the refrigerator.
The place is just marvellous! An old beautiful renovated house with all the necessary things in it.
The treasure of this albergue is the owners which are wonderful people! They work not for the money, but for the people; I have recieved so much positive emotions from Jolie and her family :)) Thank you!!!<3
P.S. they give the most incredible stamp ever!
BEST ALBERGUE IN SPAIN
Right in the middle of historical Caldas de Reis. the hotel is next to the Thermal springs whose temperature is above 40 C. The attic room was exotic. AC is fully operational. Very clean. Standing glass shower. Breakfast was nice. Enjoyed coffee a lot.
5 min away from self-laundromat, several supermarket (closed on Sunday, but one is open). Many restaurants are nearby.
Clean, comfortable studio apartment in the middle of Caldas de Reis, right along the Camino! The host, Jorge, was wonderful--as soon as I dialed his number to meet to collect the keys, he was there! After my son left a bracelet there, he contacted me on WhatsApp, offering to return it. It was great to have a washing machine, too.
One of (if not the) most special places we’ve stayed! Every part of the hotel is unique, artfully curated, and well taken care of. Not to mention, the staff are all incredibly friendly and the food was amazing (best breakfast ever, amazing homemade bread and pastries every day). Can’t say enough good about the place.
Beautiful room with private bath. Lounge area with kettle and refrigerator. Very nice accommodations and easy check in. Very near one of the best restaurants we visited while in Spain, Mesón Bermaña. Very close to public hot springs. Quiet except for the cheers from the bullfight...but when in Spain.
As a pilgrim, this place was truly a retreat for the soul. The flat was super clean and the owner made sure you felt comfortable. She gave us many useful tips, so we would enjoy our stay in Caldas de Reis. We really enjoyed the communication and stay overall!
Unless peregrinos are staying in an albergue, they will find this place to be one of the best bargains in Caldas de Reis. It is a comfortable, roomy, nicely furnished apartment in a really good location, right on the Camino.
The man who checked us in gave us extensive details of all the different attractions of Caldas de Reis. Hé was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the Camino. The hostel is clean and welcoming.
This was a typical old school continental hotel with some dated facilities and some updated. The restaurant was of poor quality and the servers were rude. Our room was clean and enormous.
A nice place to stay. Clean, friendly, efficient. There is a pool, but we were to tired from walking to use it. I would definitely consider staying here again if I were in Caldas de Reis.
A beautiful room on the Camino. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the window lovely. Breakfast was down the road at the sister hotel, but very easy, delicious and filling.
The hotel is very very clean and well appointed and luxurious; and the staff was wonderful! The location is centered in the old town in a historic building which adds to the charm.
Good option (not only) for pilgrims passing through Caldas de Reis. The city is tiny and the appartment is right in the center. Nice balcony. Very friendly owner.
