One of my very rare 10 ratings. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonable with the choices changed daily in the evenings. Free drinks during dinner was a nice surprise. Check-in and out was also smooth.

Liked the fact it was a very Spanish resort (didn’t see any other tourists). It was very windy and rather chilly near the seafront which we were not expecting in mid May.
Harbour and castle worth visiting.
Beach front was hit and miss with places to eat and drink e.g some seemed very expensive , some full of kids, Some fully booked up.
Found a nice Italian in the end just before harbour. Harbour bar good too.

The area where the hotel was situated is set up for tourists with most of the facilities one could ask for. If one was prepared to travel down to the marina and port, there one can experience to local ambiance and enjoy a more Spanish atmosphere. Having my own car made life easy, if you hire a car make sure it has sat at or you have Waze or Google on your phone. The Castillo de Santa Anna by the port is worth a visit. Also well worthwhile is a visit to the film sets where a lot of the Spaghetti Westerns were made.

We drove to the beach from our apartment on our way back home, as we had visited Roquetas de Mar for a music concert . We took a long walk along the sea front, it seemed a really nice place to visit lots going on and to do but probably worth staying in one of the many hotels or apartments near to the beach front.

As we travelled out of the summer season it seemed quiet but felt safe and seems family friendly. It is very much a traditional feel of Spain, doesn't feel like a tourist den which is nice. English is not widely spoken but that just adds to the authentic Spanish experience. Learning a few key basic words in Spanish would be a good idea, such as greetings etc.

This is probably the best rated hotel in the area and is a good quality mid-size hotel. We paid a premium for a larger room with sea view, which seemed good value. Drinks were cheap, with cocktails for less than 7 Euro each. The room was great but there is little external sound insulation which meant we heard the poolside entertainment whether we wanted to or not. The beach outside is good, and stretches for miles but the surrounding area is not pretty due to the thousands of hectares of agricultural land covered with makeshift plastic greenhouses. There are some great bars and restaurants on the beach and in the town with very tasty and affordable tapas.

Difficult to find a good meal for the evening.
Difficult to find a good meal for the evening. Mostly poor quality food in the local restaurants. Wouldnt recommend either of the Asian restaurants. Ordered roast lamb in one restaurant and it was served cold. Sent it back and then the meat was hot but the potatoes cold. Complained to the staff but they just said they couldnt do anything about it.

The villa was amazing, so well equipped, spacious, clean and really comfortable. It's proximity to the quiet pool was fantastic and within a short walk to all the shops and restaurants etc too. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Check in was super easy via the hotel and when we arrived, the Internet wasn't working. So, after a couple of messages, they unexpectedly arrived on the doorstep within half an hour and had it resolved. Amazing service! Absolutely would recommend Villa Ohana without a doubt. 100%
Location only a row behind houses/shops-indoor heated pool-free parking out front (I think only available for 1st come possibly). closeness to beach with walking & biking lanes.
Wifi was good. Provided some cleaning service with fresh towels after 3 days. Patio nice ocean view and yes get even number apartment for best view. Has heat & A/C but I didn’t need to use. Very quiet. Kitchen had adequate dishes/utensils etc. but no real supplies except dish soap. Very much liked the place.
Not much to be honest. The staff were friendly and helpful though - we were also grateful for the Gratuity drinks for making us wait at check in and the bottle of fizz that seems standard for first time guests. Sadly this didn’t make up for our disappointment at the expense of such a disappointing place. Partly my mistake for booking such a large hotel in peak season, but the photos do not show the reality. It felt like a tired hotel.
It was a very peaceful beachfront hotel, the staff were great. The room was good, it had everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The bed was big and comfortable, the aircon was working perfectly well.
The entertainment was good and due to the manner the pool was set up it never seemed overcrowded even though the pool/pool sides were full.
The food - there was alot of variety which was great with a picky eater.
I would like to say that the receptionist who greeted us that day was very helpful and went out of her way to accommodate as we had a car accident before we arrived and was relying on friends to collect us the following day. We visit Roquetas quite often for a weekend break and will certainly be visiting Mar y Golf again
Breakfast and dinner was brilliant! Room was high standart and perfectly clean. Staff was awesome! You can access the beach from the swimming pool area and there is a swimming pool with attractions for kids. In general I'd say it is the BEST hotel for family I have staid for now!
Tranquility, views of the lake, the ground floor owing to age, the garden. Plus they are pet friendly, & we have used them for yrs, always had a dog that loves it. We live in Spain & it's a great holiday spot for us. Bedding, towels, & apartment was very clean.
Loved the location overlooking the ocean, the privacy and that every need had been anticipated. The hosts, Lyn and Bob went out of there way to be accommodating at every step. It felt like we were home. The high ratings for this property are truly deserved!
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, activities for kids throughout the day. Room was clean, serviced every day. Very comfy beds and pillows, was hard to het up in the morning 😅😅
The breakfast was great. Right on the beach. The staff nice. Quality price (90e x day 6-9 april) 10 out of 10. The have also parking garage for motorcycle is 12euro x day.
