This is a great place to stay, we loved everything about it. After a long and hot day of cycling the four of us couldn’t believe what a great find this place was. Beautifully finished, an excellent location amongst the vineyards and great communication from the owners. We loved it…did I say that already?

Martine's place is fantastic - such a character, tranquility and peaceful. Martine was amazing host, very warm and kind person. Her home made breakfast was fantastic. I loved having breakfast in her cosy big kitchen. The rental room is spacious enough with big bathroom, the bed was very comfortable, high quality bedding and towels. Her garden is huge with old trees and surrounded by vineyards, fields with horses. We spent our dinners in a lovely outdoor area with her lovely dog Onix - extremely friendly dog. We had amazing time! We will comeback!

This is an annexe to house of owners: i.e. a REAL B&B, which I love. Hosts were out of their home to greet us as soon as we parked our car. We had one of the two apartment units which are tastefully furnished and had everything we required. Situated about 40 km from Bordeaux it meant we could visit that city but also tour the neighbourhood if we chose to. Frontenac has one bar which serves food but we had self catering: everything available which we needed. Nice table in garden near lovely pool.
Tip from owners: visit St Emilion. We did and were very impressed.

Our group of 12 friends, cycling the Canal de la Garonne from Bordeaux to Toulouse, stopped for one night at the wonderful Bastide Cardan. The accommodation was lovely, and Vincent, our very welcoming and thoughtful host prepared a fabulous, all inclusive dinner (catering for a gluten free requirement) - and what a feast it was - definitely the most memorable and authentic meal on our trip! We'd have loved to stay longer in such a relaxing location, surrounded by nature, however we had to keep pedalling onwards to our destination in Toulouse. I cannot recommend Bastide Cardan and Vincent highly enough. Hopefully we can return in the future - and stay for longer!
