The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Estense Castle and the town centre. The staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice of sweet and savoury and delicious food. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds comfortable. The complementary biscuits at arrival were a nice touch. The parking was underneath the hotel and convenient even if maybe a bit pricey at 21 euros per night. If we had been in the main body of the hotel my review would probably have been a 10.
The Maxxim Hotel is housed in a striking 15th-century palace, once a Count’s residence. This antique building is full of charm and maintains its original arches, marbles and tapestries.
Power was out for 3+ hours in the evening, only in our hotel. Unable to access our rooms. Staff did not offer any reduction. They just kind of blew us off. Expensive hotel for inferior treatment. Other than that, a nice place to stay
