Wow!! What can we say. One of the best experiences we have ever had. Luz, our host could not do more than enough and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure everything went smoothly for us. Being in Spain with limited Spanish can be challenging at times, but the communication was amazing and we managed through Google translate. Luz even brought a friend with her who could speak a little English, so she could communicate more effectively. She offered to pick us up from our visits to local wineries and came and picked us up on check out to take us to the train station. The apartment itself was very comfortable. Great furnishings and comfortable beds. There is a lovely, large and sunny terrace at the back and Luz supplied everything we needed. The location is an easy 10 minute walk from the monastery (not counting the walk up the steep hill) and old town section of town. There is a great cafe/restaurant about 10 doors down from the apartment that serves excellent local Galician fare. All in all, we had a very positive stay in Montforte de Lemos and if we are ever back here again, we would definitely stay here.
