Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Bide-Ona offers accommodation in Portugalete, 700 metres from Vizcaya Bridge.

All rooms are heated and have a wardrobe.

There is a shared lounge at the property with flat-screen TV and a communal area with a microwave, fridge and coffee and tea facilities.

The place has several group rooms, we stayed in the smaller one, for 4 people. We were not time-limited in terms of access to the site. It has a kitchen equipped with a kettle, toaster and fridge. There is also a laundry room with an automatic washing machine, a hand washing machine and a dryer. The people taking care of the place were very nice and could communicate in English. I highly recommend.

Fantastic modern, beautiful woods, clean, and a short walk to the beach. Thanks especially to the cook Paul who was very kind (and served up delicious meals!)

Bilbao Hostel is set next to the A8 Motorway and is 10 minutes’ drive from central Bilbao. Surrounded by gardens and sports grounds, this hostel features a buffet restaurant and a 24-hour reception.

Each modern room and dorm at Bilbao Hostel has heating, a desk and a private or shared bathroom. All accommodation offers views of Bilbao.

Bilbao Hostel is an excellent choice, very nice and well run, but let’s get the one negative out of the way right now: If you plan on cooking your own meals, well... go somewhere else. The communal kitchen, potentially shared among 170 guests, isn’t even suitable for preparing one person’s meal. The total cooking facilities consist of one induction burner and two small microwaves, one of which was broken during my stay. No pots and pans, no cutlery, no can opener, no corkscrew, nothing. Yes, you can get a small frying pan, a modest cooking pot, and one place setting for a €30 deposit, but with only one heating element, what’s the point? OK, if you plan on always eating out or just heating take out food, this is no problem and the rest of this high rise, 8 floor, hostel is great. Shared rooms are 4 or 6 beds, very clean, and typically but not super-cheaply priced (I paid €26/person in late October before 10% Genius discount). The property is beautiful, with an expansive view of Bilbao through the many large windows, large outdoor areas, plenty of free parking, a parking lot for motor homes, unshared rooms available, and at 170 beds, much more capacity than the typical hostel. In the off season, you have a reasonable chance of having a dormitory room to yourself. There is a generous noon deadline for vacating your room and you're still free to stay in the public areas after that. There are several comfortable public spaces (although the nicest lounge is reserved for employees, and usually empty), the included breakfast is all you can eat and above average (but notably lacking any fresh fruit), you can do your laundry (extra fee), and the 24 hour desk means you can arrive anytime.

This simple, functional hostel is set 10 minutes’ walk from the famous Guggenheim Museum. It offers heated dormitory and private rooms, 5 minutes’ walk from Deusto Metro Station.

Rooms at Moon Hostel Bio feature vibrant décor and individual lockers. Private rooms have a private bathroom, while dormitories have bunk beds and a shared en-suite bathroom.

Clean rooms, nice fresh smell, got towels and blankets without charge, the receptionist even helped us, and locked our bags in a room before our check-in time, so we could go aroung without them. We had no problems with the bar next door, the location is excellent.

Pil Pil Hostel is just 1 minute’s walk from Athletic Bilbao’s iconic San Mamés Stadium. With no curfew or lock-out, it offers dormitories with individual lockers.

You can use the hostel’s printer if you need to print out a boarding pass but there is a surcharge. There is also luggage storage and bicycle parking on site.

I really liked the decor and the security system in place. Also, the choice of mixed dormitory or female only. Staff was lovely.

Most of the rooms located in this refurbished factory are equipped with a private bathroom and a personal locker. Every bunk bed comes with a night light, a shelf and USB connector. Bed linen is provided.

Very relaxed. Fantastic that it has an eatery attached. Rachel at checkout was amazing: so friendly and accommodating with a great sense of humor. The next day, the gentlemen working at the desk was so sweet: he asked if I was cold and offered me a sweatshirt.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
