The Killeshin Hotel is one mile from Portlaoise and junction 16 off the M7 motorway. It offers a bistro, an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym and free parking. Breakfast was excellent, as was all the staff, well mannered, and so friendly, especially the man on the reception desk, (sorry I forget his name) He has a beard. He has great customer service skills. I believe this is a key element in dealing with the public. Would definitely recommend The KELLISHION HOTEL. Ann.

The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. Special mention to the night porter after 12 at night, I came in late because I had a flight and the man couldn't be more accomodating... car was too low to get into car park and he got me parking in another section that was barriered in, couldn't ask for a nicer man to meet that late at night after flying

The Heritage offers 4-star accommodation in Killenard. Set within private gardens, guests may enjoy the on-site features including a leisure centre, award-winning spa, and on-site bars and... Everything about the stay was perfect - the experience was excellent from Check-in, food service to Spa Facility we were met with the same excellent service standard, where nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our needs during the stay. The location is super convenient to M7 would highly recommend and I will definitely return.

The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town centre and O'Moore Park. It boasts a 20-metre pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym. It was conveniently located off the main highway.

Located in Mountmellick and only 22 km from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Summergrove House provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. This is by far the best b&b (hotels included), I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The pictures don't do it justice. The description does not do it justice. My review won't do it justice either ;-) Upon entering James' home, you are teleported back in time. The decor, furniture, down to every little thoughtful detail makes you believe you find yourself in the 18th century. It is impossible to imagine the work and love James put into the restoration of his home. Sitting in the drawing room by the fire in the evenings, either with a book or in conversation with James and other guests, surrounded by so much history, will make you feel truly humbled. And probably the most relaxed you have ever been ;-) Go for it. You will only regret not having seen this absolutely stunning place!

The Yoke has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Ballybrittas, 16 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. Super friendly hosts, beautiful grounds and location, very clean, fruit basket/coffee/tea/fridge in the room, and spacious.

Offering a garden and garden view, Kearney's Cottage B&B is located in Killenard, 18 km from Kildare Town Heritage Centre and 23 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. The loveliest B&B with the nicest most welcoming family. Can’t recommend it enough!

Offering a garden and garden view, LittleField B&B Durrow, Laois is situated in Durrow, 28 km from Kilkenny Railway Station and 29 km from Kilkenny Castle. The place was spotless, easy to find, close to Durrow town. Self-catering breakfast was nice, late checkout much appreciated!
