Pazo de Turbisquedo, B&B in Turbisquedo

Set in the countryside 40 minutes’ drive from Ourense, Pazo de Turbisquedo is set in a restored stone building. It offers heated rooms with free WiFi and large gardens.

Decorated with antique furniture, rooms come with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries. Guests also have access to a shared lounge.

Having visited this property several times, I can say without reservations that this is my favorite property to stay at in Spain, and in its category (historic and rural tourism). Visiting the location is like stepping back in time, and what sets this location apart is the quality of the location and the overall ambiance. The walls are hung with several period tapestries and painting, and several pieces of the furniture appear to be original to the location (though in fantastic condition). If you are looking to step out of your busy life, and step back in time (while also maintaining amenities such as cell/wifi/electricity), then this is hard to beat, case in point upon my arrival there were several leaving who stayed the weekend in period appropriate (~1850s) clothing. The view from the Pazo is breathtaking (see photo), and the grounds are wonderful to walk around.

Cabo Do Mundo Casa Rural is 8 km from Chantada, in the hills of the Ribeira Sacra wine region. This house has many terraces with amazing views over the Mino Valley.

Each room at Cabo Do Mundo Casa Rural has a private bathroom with free toiletries. Guests also receive a buffet complete breakfast each morning.

The most beautiful location and the most gracious host. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Ribiera Sacra area. So worth the 6 hour drive from Madrid!!!

    The great hospitality of William who gave us the best travel tips of the area and let us walk in their private wood just next to the Pazo. The bedroom was huge and they let our dog stay with extra charge.

    the castle is wonderful, elegant, both the rooms and the decoration very well chosen. We slept in the tower, full of secrets, beauty and surprise. The bedding is perfect, so pleasant. the surrounding lands, the garden, the forest, are luxuriant. it is a place where one feels so good. the welcome by owner, william, is charming, anthentic, generous, helpful. The location near the gorges du sil is perfect. we have never stayed in such a beautiful and pleasant place, full of life and beauty. i couldn't recommend it more.
