From the moment I stepped onto the grounds of this historic Pazo, I was transported to a realm of tranquility and timeless elegance. Surrounded by sprawling fields, gardens, ancient oaks, and the sounds of running water, Pazo de Turbisquedo offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The staff at Pazo de Turbisquedo epitomized Galician warmth and hospitality. From the moment of arrival, I felt like an esteemed guest in a private residence rather than a mere traveler. The attentive and friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, offering personalized recommendations for local attractions and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.

Astonishing transformation over the ast couple of years. The rooms are all uniquely decorated with antiques and handmade tapestries. The huge tapestries under the courtyard arches are new since my last stay and are stunning. A very unique property! Love staying here while scouring the Ribeira Sacra.

Having visited this property several times, I can say without reservations that this is my favorite property to stay at in Spain, and in its category (historic and rural tourism). Visiting the location is like stepping back in time, and what sets this location apart is the quality of the location and the overall ambiance. The walls are hung with several period tapestries and painting, and several pieces of the furniture appear to be original to the location (though in fantastic condition). If you are looking to step out of your busy life, and step back in time (while also maintaining amenities such as cell/wifi/electricity), then this is hard to beat, case in point upon my arrival there were several leaving who stayed the weekend in period appropriate (~1850s) clothing. The view from the Pazo is breathtaking (see photo), and the grounds are wonderful to walk around.

The country manor house was built in the eighteenth century, and staying in it was like a journey back in time. While some of the rooms have balconies, our room, which we chose, had only one very small window and what appeared to be slits in the walls for guns. The house was filled with antique furniture and tapestries chosen with great love by the owners to represent furniture that could have been in the house during the centuries of its existence. Loved talking with one of the owners, who was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the house and Spanish history in general. Food served for breakfast was of very high quality—the best breakfast we had in Spain, including in paradores.
